I am currently taking Art 401, which is Black & White Photography. As one of our assignments, "Quarter Long Exploration", we are allowed to pick a subject to photograph and focus on for 3 months, to come up with a variety of pictures of this subject. I am choosing to do my assignment on shelter/rescue dogs. As a dog owner, I would like to spread the word around about how great shelter/rescue dogs can be, and how they are so many that are in need of a loving home. With your permission, I would like to come by and have an hour or two to photograph a variety of dogs that are currently at your shelter/rescue. :)

SO, my question, where and HOW can I contact any kind of rescue/shelters around here?

Thanks.

1) Do a http://www.Google.com search for " dog + shelter + Columbus "

2) Go to http://www.Petfinder.com
They have a search block in the left panel - ask for "dog" and location = Columbus, OH

3) Lower down in the left panel of Petfinder, there's a 'search' for
Rescues & Shelters in a fill-in-the-box "location" ...
insert Columbus, OH - the list will include ALL types of rescues- dog, cat, horse, etc.

*Click* on the shelter names - most will open their web sites - giving either
an address or sometimes a phone number.

If you offer the Shelters a copy of your photos for them to use in their
publicity pieces, they will probably make time for you.
