Carol from PAWS in St. George, Utah contacted us because Wilbur was at the St. George Animal Shelter and he was in bad shape. It was New Years Eve and there were no vet offices open and Wilbur's injuries were so severe that they could not wait.
Wilbur has a severe infection in his leg, and is about 20 lbs underweight. He had one leg bone completely exposed and then someone wrapped it so tightly that it caused the tissue to atrophy.
Wilbur is in good hands now and is getting treatment at the Best Friends Clinic but his recuperaton may take a while as he may be losing his back leg.
We need a comfy home for Wilbur to stay at until he is completely well and can go to his forever home.
We estimate that Wilbur he is about 3 years old and is a male blue brindle pit bull.
Wilbur has been an absolute sweetheart with everyone, even when some of the treatment he received hurt.
If you can provide a comfortable place for Wilbur to recuperate or if you are interested in adopting Wilbur please contact Carol at carol <at> dixiepaws.org
