Goodbye Boof

Boof just passed away a minute ago. i feel so helpless, so i thought i would post in here as i know a lot of you were following his recovery. He died very quickly. We think he choked on some of the mash we had for him. He was there one minute and gone the next. My poor mum is devastated, as it was her house rabbit. Actually Boof was more like the family rabbit. He hopped around the house and we loved him, now, me, my mum, my brother and my dad are in tears. We will miss you boofy boy.

Thanks everyone. It made me cry again to read all your messages. I miss him so much. I had to work today and pretend to be fine around people, but i had to keep turning away from people or ducking into a corner because i had tears coming down my face.

Boof was very cuddly the last few days before he died, almost like he knew he wasn't well. at least we got many hugs from him before he left us to go to the rainbow bridge.

Boof was sick for a while. recently the slightly numb slide of his body became even worse so. he couldn't walk properly, but that didn't stop him from trying. he would figure out where he wanted to go, then he would hobble diagonally. Mum called him a little baby seal cause he was white and his numb feet looked like flippers. He was happy when he just before he died and he died very quick, which was good for him, but a shock for us. One minute he is sitting next to us watching tv, the next he went floppy and died. it was all over in seconds. If boof was getting worse, it was probably better this way so he didnt suffer. He had an appointment with the rabbit specialist today to get his teeth filed down. We had to cancel, which was difficult cause we had to let them know that Boof passed away. He was 6 years old. We almost lost him when he was much younger, so i am just grateful that we got all those extra years with him.
