Hi guys, I sadly had to put my dog, lady, to sleep 2 weeks ago. She was 16 years old and had had a stroke and could no longer walk. It was a very sad day for all my family and to help us through it i wrote a short poem in memory of Lady. I hope this may help people who are going through the same situation.

Your sparkling eyes stare at me,
As if to say, "you and i can be we".
I took you home, there to stay,
Part of our lives, to love and to play.
Before we knew it, fourteen years had passed,
And then came the day that your tail wagged its last.
I knew right then what i had to do,
Take you somewhere they could care for you.
As we lay you down, to let you sleep,
We see your body breathe a sigh of relief.
The right thing was done to let you go,
But the pain and sorrow, you will never know.
How much we miss you every day,
Forever in our hearts the memories will stay.

Dedicated to the best friend ever, R.I.P now, the pain in over x x x

RIP sweet Lady! You were very much loved by your family here on earth. Play and run free again at Rainbow Bridge and know that you will be with your family again one day.

Peace to you bunnyloveruk and to all of your family. That was a lovely poem you wrote for your Lady. I can tell you loved her very much!

Having been in your shoes, I know only too well how very hard it is to part with a dear soul mate. There's a part of your heart that just never will be the same. You've done a fine tribute to Lady and you do know that your final act of love was just that. We'll be thinking of you during these difficult days.

Rest in peace, sweetie. You were definitely loved. That is a beautiful poem and my heart has been broken ever since my Jubilee passed away too... Run freely honey, you'll be forever missed by all of us. :)
