And I love it. :D Notwithstanding it is December, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, kind of like all is celebrating along with me. :D
It is not perfect of course, it is still a very small place with hardly any garden but none of that seems to matter any more. I have lovely neighbours, my son lives just down the road, there is a park close by I can walk Bob and my health is holding steady with more good days than bad. I thank God every moment for bringing us here.
We are happy, Bob, Ebby and I. :D

It sounds wonderful!
Where did you live before?

Chris, it is great place! :) Although it's a bit small, you have other advantages... it's cosy and light, and you have your son and a park nearby, and even nice neighbors! And most of all Ebby and Bob. :D Congratulations!

phesina, I lived in the same county but in wholly different part. A large council estate close to the town of Wrexham. I now live around 8 or 9 miles away from the town in a place called Ponciau, a village which in its turn is part of Rhosllannerchrugog, the largest village in Wales. It is part way up the mountain (or of the hills - think of, if you've seen it, The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (http://www.surveyhistory.org/englishman_who_went_up_a_hill.htm) but set in the present day.:D) and there are some beautiful views which give me a wonderful feeling of space.

Chris, I had to look it up and found this: http://www.welshicons.org.uk/html/ponciau.php
I'm sure i told you that John's nephew lives in Wales also, and his sister and parents visit now and again - I haven't been there though. He and his wife are teaching in Cardiff University and live in Dina's Poweys. Have you been there? I hear it's beautiful in Wales. :)

Rhosllannerchrugog, the largest village in Wales. .
*OfB*.K%Sµ Just turned my tongue into a knot trying to pronounce that name :eek::D!
We visited Wales many years ago. It really is a very beautiful region, Randi!! we saw several unpronouncable names, and we had lots of fun trying it :p:). We spent 1 evening in a small B & B house. That evening we sat in front of the fireplace, telling and listening to good stories;
There was an old friendly couple, and they were great storytellers! I don't remember the name of teh village though, it was a word with lots of "L"'s ;)
I envy you Chris for leaving in such a beautiful place!!!
Do you have a pic of your house?

:love::D Happy Anniversary! :D:love:
Chris, I am so glad to hear that you are happy at this one year anniversary.
I remember you posting when you moved and you were just a bit worried about the place being too small.
You deserve it!

Thank you Gini. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/CwmmawrJet/Smiles/Hugs2.gif Yes, you are right, I did worry that it was too small, and I suppose it is really, but it's fine, I call it cosy now.:D

Thank you for the link Randi, I'd not seen that site before. I haven't read it all through but what I have read is right, except that I think the pubs that are mentioned are no longer there.
Ponciau Banks is the park I walk Bob in. It is being renovated and is nearly finished now. You can see some 'before' pictures here:
Ponciau park - before pics (http://www.4shared.com/dir/9418409/94153c61/Ponciau_park_and_walk_home.html) I'll post some 'after' pics when they have finished.
To my shame I've not travelled much around Wales, I think Lut may have seen more of my country than I.

Don't worry Lut, I have a bit of trouble with the pronouncing of it myself, I do know how it should sound but am never able to make it sound right.This fellow can tell you what it should sound like. :D

I don't live in a house Lut but the end one of a row of four bungalows. There are some pictures from when I first moved in here;

What a lovely thread Chris. I'm so glad you are liking where you are now, and the new pictures of Bob and Ebby! :love::love: Absolutely adorable. They are such sweethearts and you take such nice pictures of them. Ebby doesn't even need to wake up to look great in a picture! Wish I had that ability. :D

I wrote about, and linked to some 'before' pictures, of my local park earlier in this thread and as I was ridiculously pleased to see this picture on the North-East Wales part of the BBC news site I thought I'd share it with you.

Harmony in the park - work on a bandstand, as part of a £500,000 refurbishment of Ponciau Banks Park in Wrexham. New paths, lighting and CCTV are also being installed in time for Christmas, and a skateboard park will open in the spring. Local groups and the council have worked on a long project.
Bob and I, well, I anyway, have been watching and enjoying, the progress of all the renovations whilst on our daily walk. The bandstand was completely wrecked, just a block of very worn stone remained, so this is a real improvement. Except for the odd shaped top. ;D
p.s. Note that lovely blue sky, we have had quite a lot of days like that, cold but bright. Long may they continue.
