Alright, first I have three bad pictures of him today.

And then, I think I'm not going to be able to keep Oslo, at least for a year. I am almost sure I'm going to be spending the next year in New Jersey as a working student at a horse barn. I wouldn't be able to take him or my two rats with me.
My parents don't want him, and he already is not getting enough attention but I don't want to give him up to a stranger, not the rats if I can help it. If you need to, you can neuter him, but he's not now because he's show (and breeding) quality. If you wanted you could show him. Also, if you bonded with him at the end of the year and really wanted to keep him then you could.
Again, I feel so bad doing this but I am not happy here, and I feel like I have to put myself before Oslo. My mom says it's the right decision but I still feel guilty.

Where do you live? He is really cute. If you are anywhere close to me, I would take him! He deserves a wonderful home, I am sorry you must give him up:(

Thank you for offering. I live in Iowa/ Illinois, so you're pretty far away.

Aww, I have always loved seeing that little guy of yours.. he is insanely adorable!
I, too, think this is a very unselfish thing for you to do... and it takes a strong person to do it. I know I would be in the same boat as you if I weren't going to a local college.
Best of luck to both of you; I hope everything works out. :-)

Thanks. I'd give him to my cousin but they have two female bunnies already.

I feel bad, I wish there was something I could do. :( I hope Oslo finds and excellent home, I know he will with you!

Thanks. I've let my old 4-H leader know that I'm looking for a home for him so that she can tell all the kids in 4-H. He started out as my 4-H project in 2005.
Oslo is so cute! Bunny feet are the cutest!:D

Eva, what are you looking for as far as a home goes? By that I mean, are you looking to rehome Oslo in Illinois? Or would you consider bringing him to NJ to be rehomed? I may have one or two people I could ask (I honestly don't know what they would say, but I know they have experience with rabbits).

My first choice is someone on PT that could give me updates on how he's doing. I've had an offer that just may work. I'm also not sure whether I could take Oslo on the train, and I may not be able to rent a car because most places like the person to be at least 21 so I just don't know how I could get him to New Jersey. Thank you though.

What a cutie he is. Sadly no bunnies for this house. Kia and Chipper try to eat them. :(

That's fine. If all goes well in about two weeks another PT member should have him. :) I still need a place for my rats to go though.

Fingers crossed that that all goes well with Oslo going to a fellow PTer. How great! :)

Oh, I really wish I was closer! :( I had been seriously playing with the idea of adopting a few ratties soon.

I wish you were too. I may have to drop them off at the Animal Rescue League if they're not placed by next weekend or they go to the nasty little pet store.

Have you checked with any local schools? Are any of your ratties "classroom pet" material in terms of personalities?

Too bad you can't get them to WI, I'd take them all in a heartbeat. Please don't give them away as classroom pets though, most classroom pets don't even have proper basic care.

Yeah, my rats are very, very nice. Especially Badger, I've held her from before her eyes opened.
I'm moving back to Illinois next weekend until after Christmas so depending on how far you'd like to drive you can have them. I could probably meet you near the border.

I'm sorry to hear you have to place your pets in new homes. How sad. I wish I could help out with the rats but I'm much too far away. I hope they find a good home. I hate to think of them going to a shelter or petstore :( Hopefully someone here will be able to foster them until they find good homes. Fingers are crossed. I know I'd take them if we lived closer.

The shelter is really very nice though. I much rather surrender them there than give them to someone I don't know who claims they'll take care of them. This is where I think I'll have to take them. http://www.arl-iowa.org/

Oooooh...I've been seriously wanting rats. We can't be too far away can we? I'm near the Lansing area in Michigan.

According to Google, we're about 4 hours away. I wouldn't mind driving except I won't have a car after next week and my parents are already driving me to the half way point of the person who is getting Oslo, and I'm not sure if they are willing to drive me (or lend me their car) on yet another trip.

Well, if you can I'd be more than willing to meet you like halfway or something. I wouldn't be able to do it until after December 20th though. :/ I would offer to do the whole round trip, but I'm sure my parents and car wouldn't be too happy.

I don't think my parents would like to have any animals in the house for more than a few days, and I'm going back next weekend. I can ask them though.
