Sweet boy, I don't even know what to say. I thought we were going to have a happy ending and you were going to be part of the Fur Posse. After losing my Puddy girl, I knew that once you wrapped those paws around my neck, I'd turn to mush. I thought that I was rescuing you from the cruelty of man and the brutality of the elements and instead I started you on your trip across the Bridge. You were by far the sweetest, most loving cat I have ever known. You didn't even sleep in the nice warm bed I made up for you and you wouldn't sleep on the blanket by the space heater either. You slept on the blanket on the step inside the garage, all the while waiting for me to come back to hold you and laugh at your antics and loud purr. You were already loyal. I feel like I let you down, Buddy, and I'm really sorry. If I gave you any comfort, I'm grateful and if I gave you any pain, please forgive me. Rest in peace, sweet boy, and please look for my Puddy girl and Peeka Pie. They'll welcome you and tell you that I'm really a good mom who tries her best. I miss you and love you, Buddy boy.

Mary, at least Buddy got to know you and felt your love for him if only for a day. I am so sorry about this.

Buddy your new mom only knew you for a little time but in that time she loved you so much and cared for you. Rest in peace over the bridge.

Mary, please don't feel that you let Buddy down, you did what you felt was right for him. You gave him comfort and a place to stay when he didn't have any place to go.

My Anika and Puddy and Peeka Pie will be there to welcome Buddy as your Puddy welcomed my dear sweet Anika. It's never easy and I'm so sorry for this loss....but just remember you gave him as much love as anyone could.

I am so very sorry. This is very sad, and while you feel YOU did something 'wrong', in fact, you did something very right. You cared. Buddy knew it. RIP, sweet Orangie.

And At Least Buddy Had A Passing Without Being Cold , Lost And Hungry And Was A Very Lucky Cat Who Knew That There Was Someone There To Love Him, And He Did Not Die Alone.
I Had An Owesome Orangie Road Block Who Was The Same, He Slept Outside And Would Never Come In, As He Was Scared Of The Found Cats, And One Day He Too Fell Ill, And Became An Angel.I Still Miss Seeing Him On The Porch. I Know He Will Befriend Your Buddy.
And You Are Buddys Meeowmie Now, So He Will Be There To Greet You With His Thunder Purrr When You Meet Again In Paradise , And Are Friends Furrever.

Mary,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Buddy was a lucky kitty to have found someone to care for and love him. Rescuing is always hard knowing they have to be tested, and it never gets easy losing one soon after they come into your life. But you did the best you could, and he went to the RB peacefully, and did not have to suffer the harsh world alone anymore.
