One of the ways my cat expresses affection is to stretch one of his rear legs as it's touching my ankle. It's part of his "I'm so glad you're home/awake" megapurr routine. Does any other cat do this?

Yes, Samantha in particular does this. I have never interpreted it as a gesture of affection though, rather as an indication that she hasn't moved all day and needs a good stretch! Is it supposed to demonstrate affection?

My Creamsicle stretches out her front leg and tries to reach my face w/her paw. It's really heartwarming.

I'm only guessing that the stretch-across-the-ankle move is an expression of affection, since Smudge only does it when he's supremely happy to see me. It almost feels like he's using his hind leg to make an "X" for "kiss!"

I have a few that do this. Sophie will stretch like she is really stiff, but she'll reach one paw allllll the way over to me. Very sweet. Finae always has to stretch out one paw and touch me with it when she's resting/sleeping next to me. Zach will also stretch out a paw and rest it on me as well.

Anyone get the "I'm gonna bury my face in your hand and sleep like it's really comfortable" pose?? Calloway and Finae do that with me. It's so sweet, and so cute!
