Dear Mary, this is all so touching. You and your cats all look after each other and care for each other so diligently and so lovingly and so well.

Yay! I'm so glad she is feeling all better now! Maybe too good if she's scaring mommy though! ;)

They knew I needed comfort and they all gathered 'round

Non pet people don't seem to understand this, and they have no idea what they're missing. Our furry kids give love and comfort at just the right times.

Weeeeellll, she's just doing great! She's been coming downstairs quite often and hanging out w/the rest of the Fur Posse and, since I've been having work done on my house I've had to keep them all in the basement while the workers are here and she wants to be w/them rather than stay upstairs by herself all day. She's got lots of energy, her appetite is good, she's using the litterbox w/no problems whatsoever. When I administer her meds, I give her a few treats, Whisker Lickin's Tender Moments chicken flavor. Good grief, when she hears that bag rustling, she's like a kitten! She perks right up, does her little Pigeon coo and she gives me head bumpies as if to say "Hurry up, Mom. Those are my favorite!" So there ya have it. Thanx for asking, Ellie. :)

Dr. Lee's office just called to confirm her checkup for tomorrow. Being blonde I forgot to put it on my calendar and she's doing so well that I totally forgot about it anyhow. Seeing that I'm still having work done on the house, I rescheduled her appt. for Monday. The gal at the vet's said "Well, it's great that she's doing so well". I sure don't want to stress her, though, w/that long drive to Dr. Lee's but I'll keep a positive thought. :)

I'm so glad to hear that she is doing so well. By the sound of your update, you'd never even know what a big scare she gave you (us) in October! That girl is a fighter. :)

Pidge is being antisocial today. Last night I thought I'd try bringing Boo in bed w/us again. She clearly was miffed about it. She sat next to me and just stared at me as if to say "Mom, there's a boy in our bed". Boo stayed most of the night and when I got up this morning, I found him sitting next to the heat vent but, of course, nothing was coming out because it's been so warm and I have the furnace turned way down. Today I couldn't find Pidge because she was hidden so well. Seems she's becoming a diva just like Puddy. Look at the expression on her face. She's sulking!

LOL This reminds me of my Pearl. When Ziggy was still a kitten, I couldn't let her into my bedroom at night because she wanted to play all night so I only let in a few cats. Pearl was the main cat the loved to sleep in my bedroom at night and she claimed the bed as her own.

When I was able to let in all of my furkids again, she didn't like it very much and she would try to chase every one off of the bed especially Storm. She's finally gotten over it but it took a while. Yes, female cats sure can be diva's among other things.:)

She's going in this morning for her checkup. She's been doing great, so I don't want the ride and vet visit to get her heart rate up there again. If you can spare a moment or two, say a little prayer for my Pidgie Pie this morning, ok?

Just got home and Pidge's vet visit went great. Her heart rate was 170; it was 189 last visit and Dr. Lee was thrilled w/that. She also gained a little weight, which pleased him too because he said that cats usually lose weight on the meds she takes. He heard no congestion whatsoever so he said he wouldn't even do a chest x-ray. He did say, though, that her lungs and heart could fill w/fluid at any time. He said "I don't want to be negative because she's doing so great but you have to know that it isn't always going to be this way. You remember how fast it went w/Puddy". I said "I know but let me enjoy this moment. Right now she's doing wonderfully and I'm thankful for that". He said "Well, you know how I am, Mary. Expect the best but prepare for the worst". I guess he had to tell me that but I really didn't want to hear it today. I was shocked when the bill came to $27. I looked around and said "Are you talking to me?" and they laughed and said "Yeah, that's kinda low for you, huh, Mary?" I can't even remember the last time I had a two digit vet bill, if ever.

She really carried on the entire drive there and when she started on the way home, I said "Hey, no need to fuss now. We're going home". She stopped immediately. LOL So all in all, a good visit. :)

This is so wonderful!! Excellent news. And I'm sure the vet just didn't want to raise your hopes too high and also cover his own rear. So just don't think about that right now and enjoy your little girl while she is in such a good place. :D

True, no singing this time. I turned the radio on for her but it didn't help. Candace (Catty1) sent me one of her CD's for Miss Pidge but the mail didn't arrive until after our vet visit. It sure would've come in handy on the ride to the clinic. Oh well, we'll save it for next time. Thank you, Candace. We'll listen to it this evening. :)

I'm just a tad nervous about Pidge. Dr. Lee was pleased that she had gained weight but now I can tell that she's losing. I don't even have to pick her up to tell; I can see it. He did say that cats tend to lose weight on the meds that she's taking but she's been awfully lethargic all day. She didn't come downstairs to eat breakfast w/the rest of the Fur Posse; I had to carry her downstairs. After eating, she went back upstairs and she's stayed there all day. Will you please remember my sweet Pidge in your prayers?

Absolutely. Puddy went w/in an hour and I don't want to take any chances w/Pidge. Of course, it's a weekend w/an upcoming holiday. :(

Pidgie Pie, you need to eat sweet girl. Please do so. You make you mom and the rest of us nervous when you don't.

Hugs to you, Mary. I hope it's just because of the meds, and that she'll be ok.

Guess who just came downstairs? I'll tell ya, sometimes I don't know if I'm walkin' or ridin' a horse. I was so pleased to see her that I gave her a few of her fav treats: Whisker Lickin's Tender Moments. She loves those things!

Aww! Glad she came downstairs!

I wonder if one of her meds could be tweaked? OR - could she get sub qs on a very limited basis, smaller amounts? See what Dr Lee says.

HUGS to dear Pidgelet!

HUGS to dear Pidgelet!

Dr. Lee already said 'no subQ's'. He's already tweaked her meds, too, so I'm hoping she's just having an off day. She hopped up on the back of the sofa and essentially nudged Yodie off. Yodie walked away w/airplane ears. LOL

I'm glad Pidgie came downstairs and is reclaiming her post. :) I wonder if she might also be losing muscle mass from not moving around as much in addition to a reaction to the meds. I suppose there is not much to be done about that though. Do you think Dr. Lee would allow you to give her NutriCal? It is a paste that has 2,500 calories (I think) per dose and comes in a tube like hairball remedy and is of the same consistency. I've used it on one of my cats and they all gather around trying to get some so I think it's proably tasty too.
Prayers that she stops losing and at least maintains the weight she has. :)

Do I need to get it from a vet or can I buy it at Pet Supplies Plus?
