View Full Version : Do other cats do this?

My two Siamese cats who are no longer with us used to love to chew on the leaves of my silk plants. I couldn't stop them, except by removing the plants. I thought it was just their peculiarity, but when we recently got two new Siamese babies, now adolescents, I found they do the same thing! They don't digest anything, just chomp away on the leaves. I grew them some "real" cat grass, but they ignored it.
They are, of course, inside cats. I'm not looking for a solution, just wondering if any other cats do this?

I've known a few people with pure bred siamese cats, and seems to me that most of them chewed weird things including blankets. Not anything serious like actually eating the stuff, but always licking and chewing on things.

Chewing on things isn't necessarily limited to Siamese. My orangie Creamsicle chews on everything. My old computer had attached speakers and she chewed right through the wires. My Siamese Coco Puff doesn't do it at all. :)

Thanks CatLady and Medusa. I thought maybe they were just dumb and thought they were real plants. They chew on nothing else!
