I cannot do this post, but I have to. I am very, very, very heartbroken. My parents had to put down Rosie on Saturday morning, she started having back problems, and the vet gave her medication to help her ease the pain, and it worked for a while, then, for some reason, my parents said she came back inside hobbling, basically dragging herself behind the tv set, and just yelping and whimpering, and panting, trying to figure out what happened with her back legs, and so my parents took her to the vet, and found out that she was paralyzed from her middle of her back to her back legs. It would have cost us thousands of $ to have surgery on her, which we cannot afford (dad is out of a job, three kids in college *me and my two brothers*) and there was no other guarantees, no other options, so.. we had to put her to sleep, to ease her pain and now she is in a better place. PLEASE DO NOT judge me. I could not be home for her, to say goodbye, and that is enough to kill me right now. Mike was here for the weekend when I got the phone call from my mom, and he was just so understanding and compassionate when it came to this. I broke down crying this morning because it had really HIT me, and he just held me for a while, and it was just something I needed. I am glad I was not alone.
ALSO, my mom had a dream of Rosie last night and she was happy. That's comforting to know she is doing well at the rainbow bridge.
Thanks.
This was the last picture I took of her before I came back to OSU:

Oh, no, we knew this day would come someday. At her age, it is likely she may not have been well enough for the surgery anyway. Do not beat yourself up over this, okay?
Rosie, Rosie furry love
Watch over you girl from the sky above
Furry, smooth sweet and strong
You love will stay in their hearts where it belongs
Many pawprints you've left on our hearts
And we know you'll be missed now that you had to depart
But Rosie, Rosie, velvet ears, sweet girl
You are loved forever on this old world
I hear there are green fields and bunnies up there
And nothing will hurt anymore
You're free from pain and care
Rosie, Rosie, smooth fur and deep brown eyes
You live forever in hearts here Earthside.

I am so sorry, Rachel.:( :( :( I saw Rosie's name in the Dog Memorial column and I dreaded opening it. I'm deeply saddened by this. It was Rosie's time to leave this earth and be an angel in heaven. She isn't having any pain now. You all did the only thing you can do. It's so hard to make the decision but we have to do it for them. I know she was grateful to be pain free. She's thanking you and the family from the bridge right now.
My heart breaks for you and your family, hon. I'm sending you some giant hugs from me. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}
Rest in Peace Sweet Rosie Girl:( Play hard at the bridge angel face.:(

I'm so sorry to hear this, Rachel. My heart sank when I read the thread...I can't even believe that it is true. :( I think she was only about a year older than Nebo and Syd. I remember when you first got her and watching her grow up. Please know that I would never judge you or your family for making one of the hardest decisions anyone ever has to make. Rosie is pain-free and happy now at the bridge. Remember this drawing I did of her years ago?

I wish I knew where it was, I think its lost, otherwise I'd send it to you. If you ever need to talk, just send me a pm. I'll be keeping you, your family (including Anna) in my thoughts.

If anyone judged you for this they should be ashamed. When I posted a thread about putting Sassy to sleep, I didn't know what to expect. I mean arthritis is not a life-threatening illness. But you know, when you have tried everything and nothing worked, what else can you do? Let the dog suffer? Now, then I'd judge you. Your parents did the right thing for sweet Rosie. I am so sorry it had to come to this though. :( RIP sweet girl. May you finally be in complete bliss. How is Anna coping? You could tell how close those two were. :(

Rachel, I posted in the thread in DG, but I wanted to come here and express my condolences to you again.
The pictures you've posted of Rosie are so nice. Such a great way to remember her. And the drawing Amy did......amazing!
RIP Rosie.

Thank you. Oh, Anna is looking for her. She is confused why she is alone now. She was used to having Rosie bother her. ;) I am going to miss that.. they were close with each other, but Rosie would freak more if it was Anna's time.. so, you know in a way, I am glad it wasn't that way.
My dad is very heartbroken, he wants to get another dog, but not right now, obviously, but it is in his mind.

Rachel, I love your new siggie. The picture of Rosie snuggled so comfortably on the cloud by the Rainbow bridge brought tears to my eyes. I hope she is resting so comfortably and serenely until the one she was most connected to comes to see her across the bridge.

I know your heart must be broken, not to have been there. I'm so very sorry. Your sweet Rosie has always held a special place in my heart. She had such a loving, sweet face. No one will judge you. I had that happen to a cat of mine a long time ago. Very difficult decision but you know it was the right one. I hope her passing was peaceful. There are plenty of PT dogs that, I'm sure, gave her a warm welcome. With tears running down my face, I know the sadness. A little piece of me dies with every loss of one of our PT animals. Rosie will always be near to you. Keep her close in your heart.

I am so sorry I didn't see this until now. :(
Its obvious your girl was so very loved. You can see it in her eyes, how they are so warm and loving. I have always been fond of little miss Rosie, something about her pictures draws me in, she seems like a wonderful friend.
I, too, can imagine Rosie and Frisk playing together at the RB. Just imagine, they are young and pain-free again. The thought alone makes me smile through the tears. :)
Sending good vibes to you and all of your family (including Anna). ((((Hugs)))) all around.

I'm so sorry about Rosie :( I just now am seeing this and I am so very sorry for you and your family. Rosie had a very kind face, a very gentle expression. I can tell she was a sweet heart and I can tell she was very loved.
I hope you and your family feel just a bit better every day. Rosie is happy and Rosie is free from pain now, she will always be waiting for you and ready to greet you....your little angel.
That photo of her sleeping on the cloud made me cry as well. What a lovely, perfect, fitting signature Amy made for you.
Hugs to you and your family.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Rosie was a beautiful soulful girl. I know the hole she left will take time to heal, but may knowing she is pain-free at the bridge and will greet you again someday bring you some comfort.
Thank you also for sharing the beautiful pictures of her. She had the most kissable little head.

She was such a cute little beagle girl.

Thanks everyone..
It's still hard.. I still tear up about her.. I just know she's in a better place, but she has left a huge hole in my heart right now. I just can't imagine not EVER seeing her again and I know that will hit me when I return home and that is when reality will really sink in.

That's the truth. I cried when I heard about my parent's sending Shadow to the RB...I bawled when I came home to an "empty" house. :( Going home just hasn't been the same since, and she was put down over 6 months ago. :(
Still sending you many ((hugs)).

You did what you had to--we will not judge you--and I would definitely not. You were a good parent to her-- she'll be forever missed by all of us.
Sweetie pie
So sweet and strong
So healthy and sweet
So adorable from a puppy to an adult-- you are still adorable up in these clouds
Rosie you were so sweet and strong
And you still are

Rosie,
It's already been a month. I still can't believe that you're gone. I came home last weekend to a empty house, not so empty, but you weren't there. Hank was there to run towards me to greet me when I walked into the house. I know you're the one who sent the little guy to us. He is perfect, the family loves him, and I enjoy playing with him. I am still not over losing you, but I know you're happy now and in a better place. I'll always remember you as I look back to my young adult years and laugh and remember the little things about you.. :)
Say hi to Anna for me.
