Poor Digi has Beef allergies. I always knew she was allergic to something & kinda thought beef was to blame. But she seemed to be able to eat her beef bones just fine, so I was confused. Well turns out shes allergic to those too & I was too blind to notice.
It was sat that I noticed something. For the past 3+ weeks she hasn't touched her beef bones, & I didn't notice her scratching at all (I thought it was the dry/ or too humid weather bothering her skin). WEll on sat was the first time in a while she has had any kind of beef in her system. her skin was white & she wasn't scratching. Well sat night her skin was red, & she was itching a lot. I took the beef treat away. yesterday & checked her skin, it was white, she was her normals self, & I gave her the treat. a couple hours later her skin was red, she was itching baddly & then she puked (shes not a puker at all)... Well that confirmed everything.. Its beef. There was 1 other time I thought it had to be beef, but I also thought my sister gave her the beef too warm, so it made her ill.. But my sister swore up & down it was cool to room temp.
I contacted Beefeaters as I had bought their 25pk of rawhide rolls (she only gets them on the weekend when I'm home with her). I asked if there was a way I could trade it in for pork, chicken, duck, rabbit, fish or something as it was 17.00+tax.
They replied to me in under 12hrs asking for my mailing address to send her a carepackage!! I'm so excited!!! Now I just need to give away 24 rawhide rolls. I'm thinking of donating them to the THS, or the OSPCA officer I'll more then likely be dealing with tonight (I'll be making apost about the OSPCA in a min).
I'm so excited, I wonder what they are going to send Digi :D
