I have no idea what it is, and it's worrying me. He's done it befor, but not so muhc and so long as he has been doing it.
 It's kind of like a snorting noise, and he moves his head as if hes chokeing, but nothing is coming out nor is he opening his mouth. I checked his collar to see if maybe it was too tight, it's not. It's worrying me alot, and any help is appreciated. Thanks. :(

If the sound is what I am thinking of, it is called a reverse sneeze. Although it sounds bad, like snorting or inhaling air, it is normal and not harmful. Sadie and Cincy both did it a lot when they were puppies, but don't as much now.
Hope Simba is okay!

I was thinking about that too. I took Graham to the vet for this because he was doing it more then usual. It sounds like they are choaking and it sounds aweful, but if this is what it is, then you have nothing to worry about, unless it gets way too frequent. Graham's vet gave him an antihistyme for when he does that "post nasal drip" noise.
If this is what Simba is doing, Graham's vet told me that it's kind of similar to taking a small sip of water and having it go down the wrong tube, but with them, it's typically their nasal drainage that goes down the wrong tube.
Let us know. Maybe you should call your vet and see what they think. Maybe they'll talk to you over the phone?

Welll i was thinking it was something dealing with his nose because his nose does run alot and is very wet. Not the normal healthy wet.. i mean VERY. Sometimes there's a wet spot on my bed from his nose. He just looks so miserable when he's "reverse sneezing", if that's it, it makes me cry. Thank you all for your advice.

Poor Simba! I posted about this same thing a month or 2 ago. Reggie was doing it. I'd seen him do it on walks before, but when we went camping in June, he did it really bad, several times. It lasted a long time, and scared the crap out of me. I think it might have been related to allergies, as we were camping. He hasn't done it at all since then. Hope Simba is ok!

Drake did that when he was a puppy. It worried me so much that I ran him to the Animal ER in the middle of the night the first time I heard it!!!
I can not remember what the doctor gave us for it, but if you are upset and worried about it, take Simba to the vet.

KayAnn, if you want to be positive take precious Simba to the vets. They do get colds too so it is probably the reverse sneezing but your vet should be able to help you determine for sure what it is.

Star and Cody do it too. When Cody first did it I freaked, thinking she was choking and took her to the ER. I got the "reverse sneeze" diagnosis too. As has been said, if you still feel concerned, take Sim to the vets. I know it always helps me to have that "official" reassurance. Hugs to Simba!

I too think it sounds like a reverse sneeze. One of my dogs does that sometimes and it is nothing to worry about but if you are worried or it becomes very frequent and lasts a long time I would get him checked out to be on the safe side.

I've heard of the reverse sneeze before, I was told that it is quite common with terrior breeds.
