The first thing that comes to mind is: WOW. What a warm and wonderful story of humanity and its best friend. It makes me feel good to hear from other people who truly regard their pets as family members and who go as far as necessary to protect and nurture those family members. Such people are special as far as I am concerned. I know the love of Scout's parents is returned many times over from that precious pup. Scout, you are a tough and courageous little fellow. You GO Scout.

Good afternoon, handsome Scout! Your story was quite a nice one to read, sweet boy! Looks like you were definitely the right choice for your humans when trying to fill the void of another lost pup. How scary that you became so ill at such a young age, but I am so glad to hear that it was something that could be mended with a pacemaker. I was very touched to read how your humans slept on a mattress on the floor so that you wouldn`t have to jump and strain your pacemaker. :) Glad to hear that in the end, everything worked out and that the pacemaker was fine! What a wonderful story you have, Scout, and I`m glad to hear you`re back to your playful self now. I hope you have a wonderful day, special boy!

Oh, Scout! I'm so glad you have humans who love you enough to do what they had to do to keep you alive and healthy. I have a 7month old (today, as a matter of fact) Springer puppy named Boomer, so I have a special spot in my heart for Springers. (and Dalmatians!) Congratulations on being named Dog of the Day!!

It's hard to type for tears but let me say, I was simply blown away by your amazing, heartwarming story of survival, Scout. Your incredible courage and determination, your will to live is an inspiration to us all, sweetheart. And what a good patient you were! I'm a nurse and I can tell you, most humans recovering from heart related procedures/surgery are not nearly as cooperative as you! And your family's unconditional love, their unwavering devotion and dedication to doing all in their power to keep you alive, is the measure of devotion we all strive to meet when we say our companion animals are "family." I did have a warm chuckle though as I read how your Mom put the mattress on the floor so as to accommodate your desire to sleep with the humans, and they with you! Now that's a Mom "talking!":D Have to admit, I've been there, too!:) I hope and pray this finds you well, Scout! It's truly been an honor getting to know you and your family, sweetheart. I wish for you the happiest Dog of the Day celebration, and many, many, many more carefree, healthy, love filled years with your amazing family! Much love, hugs and kisses to you precious Scout, our extra special, most deserving Sunday honoree!
(And a hug and kiss to Chase, too!:))

What a touching story...and he's stll here today, thanks to wonderful pet parents.
A warning of caution to others out there: many pet shops obtain pets from unscrupulous breeders who care nothing about the condition of the pet - it's all about the money...
