Australian Shepherd

We have a spayed female Australian Shepherd. She is a very sweet dog but seldom barks. To get our attention she will stand by the screened door or window when outdoors. Instead of barking she sounds like a human clearing their throat. If we don't respond she will get louder with the clearing the throat sound. Has anyone else had a dog in their life do this?

Maybe she's a person in a dog's outfit. Maybe she's a spy.

Does she ever bark? I think there are a couple of folks here with Aussie Sheps.

She sounds terribly polite, to me. :cool: I wish my neighbors' dogs would be so considerate.
