4 Dog Mother

A couple of weeks ago we noticed a kitten hanging around our neighbor's deck area and our back yard. She is a calico with no tail. Our neighbors had gone on vacation and I didn't know if they knew the cat was making its home in their back yard or not. I talked to several of the neighbors to see if they would take this very friendly little girl in but no one wanted a kitten. AFter checking things out a little more, I found out they had left a bowl of food out and some water for the kitten so I thought I better not do anything else till i talked to them. We did get her some new food and fresh water since she didn't seem to be eating what was left for her.
After they got home, I asked what they were going to do with her and they said a friend was going to take her. In the meantime, every time I am outside working on my garden, she was out there too. She was the friendliest kitten I have ever been around.I would be deadheading petunias sitting in the gazebo and she would come and climb on my lap and if I didn't pet her as long as she wanted, she would climb up my shirt and start rubbing her head under my chin. She was so funny! Carl was digging in the back area and she would come up and help him dig. I called my sister and told her about "Callie" ( my name for her - so orignal since she was a calico) but she insisted that she did not want a 6th cat. Then my neighbor told me her friend no longer wanted the cat but they don't like taking cats to the Humane Society so they were just going to keep feeding her and trying to find her a new home. Each day I would tell my sister about how friendly Callie was and if there weren't 8 dogs here and if I didn't have an allergic husband, daughter and grandson, I would love to adopt her even though I don't consider myself a cat person.
On Friday, I was outside working and the cat was right there with me, when my sister called and asked if I thought the neighbor would give her up. I said I was pretty sure they would but I would go ask. They were happy for her to find a new home where she could be indoors. So the next day,I took Callie to my sister. They had already made a vet appointment for tomorrow morning and they got her "her" room ready - my sister's computer room where she would be "quarantined" until the vet checked her out.
So here's pictures of Callie who will be getting a new name that has not been decided yet. Josie, Taffy, and Precious seem to be the leading names right now.

No tail - from the looks of her she never had one
