She was sitting in my backyard as I pulled up my driveway. She looked scared, but most importantly she looks to be unhurt. I reset my trap hoping she will be lured in. I don't have her yet, but now I know she is alive and in the area. I'm VERY relieved!

VERY reassuring!
Use some smelly tuna from a can, tuna in OIL. That is what we use when rapping our ferals.
Hope she is lured back quickly.

Neither of my Abys, if they escape, will come to me outside. Juni has been know to be outside for a full two days. That is why she doesn't get the chance ordinarily...she has to escape. Chloe is a bit better, but not much better. I have to leave the door ajar and then wait, for Juni and Chloe. I have actually caught Juni once, and still have the scars to prove it.
I think either trapping her or leaving a door open for awhile might do the trick.
Good luck.

DAVID I HAD AN EXPERIENCE WITH MY POUNCER WHERE SHE HAD TO STAY WITH MY AUNT AND UNCLE WHILE THEY WERE FUMIGATING MY APARTMENT BUILDING.
I CAME WITH MY CASE TO GET MY SWEER TORTIE AND SHE HISSSED AT ME , GROWLED AND BIT AS THOUGH SHE HAD NEVER SEEN ME BEFORE. SHE WAS IN A CRAWL SPACE BY THE PIPES IN THE BASEMENT , OF COURSE IN THE WORST POSSIBLE PLACE TO REACH HER.
I HAD TO PUT ON HEAVY GLOVES AND DRAG HER OUT.
THEN SHE CALMED DOWN AND SEEMED TO RECOGNIZE ME AGAIN.
OH ITS YOUUU!!!!
I PRAY THAT NIKKI WILL COME TO HER SENSES TOO, AND BE YOUR FRIEND :love:AGAIN. IS THERE SOMETHING WITH YOUR SCENT THAT MIGHT REVIVE HER MEMORY?

thank god! at least she is alive & hopefully well but she will be shaken up. yes, tuna & sardines are best to lure her with or whatever her favorite is & maybe you can put one of her toys or something familiar to her in the trap as well. she must be nearby. send her some reassuring thoughts too. i want to read about a happy & positive reunion. eva, mrs cat

David ~ Could you take a chair and sit outside for a while? Take your phone outside and make some phone calls and visit with friends. If Nikki hears your voice, she may come up to you. She's close by. She's just scared.

David, this is wonderful news!!!!!! I hope she didn't have some sort of scary experience that's making her keep her distance. Nikki is definitely nearby!
Nikki, your catdad misses you very much and more than anything he wants you home again. Don't be scared, Sweetie, you're not in any trouble :love::love::love::love:

No, not last night. This morning I moved the trap up to where I last saw her and put some more smelly fresh sardines in the trap. Dona, as I said before, I'm so glad she's not hurt.

David, I'm so glad you''ve seen her and she doesn't seem hurt. :)
I think it would be worth a try putting some fresh raw cod or shrimps all the way from the outside and into your house - or if you live in flat, up the staircase. That's how we first enticed Fister to come up. :D
She may be too smart to go in the trap. ;)
Or as Kuhio said, try sitting outside when she's around.

Good idea. :) She might appear ok from a distance, but it will be so much
better to check her out completely after you get her back inside. Prayers
that it won't be much longer till she finally gets the idea that she's home.:)

I am so glad to read that Nikki is alive. I know that she will come to you soon... or to the smelly food in the trap! Bless her little heart, she must be so uncertain of things. I like Kuhio's idea of sitting and talking ont he phone so she can hear your voice.
Please keep us posted. Many prayers coming from Indiana from me and the girls that she comes to you soon.

We have always had the best luck with deli Turkey or Salmon to lure them into a trap. I know my cats can smell turkey through a closed door and the plastic wrap while it is still in a grocery bag.
I am so very glad you have seen her.

NIKKI WAS STANDING IN THE YARD!
She's scared because when she saw the car, she ran away.
I reset the trap hoping she will go in ...

David ~
Be sure you take a hike around the neighborhood and alert ALL the neighbors that
she's IN the AREA and to please keep a sharp lookout for her.
You migh also hand them each a little note with your name & phone number
so they can alert you if they spot her.
C'mone back HOME, Nikki!!<!-- / message -->
