i've always been curious as to why my dogs do this:
right before they poo, they spin around in a circle for a bit.

It's easier to relate to by asking "Do you take a book into the leu and why?..

They have to ensure they are in the perfect place and leg placement has to be comfortable enough to go. :D

I guess they are just getting themselves braced fo thier dirty work. My roommates dog does not do this, but Tango occassionally does. I think some dogs are pickier than others. :)

I forgot:

Bo was one of those who could not go if he knew you could see him.

He would go deep into the brush, assume the position and look our way to see if we were looking. If we could see him and he knew it, he would stop and go deeper in.

If we were out in a field with nothing to hide behind, he would walk quite a ways before giving in. If we turned our backs he was fine, but as soon as we turned to look at him, he would stop mid-business, and move.

He was soooo unique. The best one yet.

i think it could also be something to do with their ancestors, the wolves. or, i'm totally off? :D
