:(
:(
Tears are flowing at Unka Pat's & Miz Joan's Ranch, as well as here at our Ranch ... :(

A Dear Kat Buddy - Pat's "BC" - took a turn for the worse this afternoon
and was helped up to the Rainbow Bridge by the White Coats after being rushed
into the hospital by Pat and Joan.

"BC" goes back a LOONG way ... almost as far back as Pat!
I remember when he was "hired" to help Pat & the two Kids - Danny and Detta -
reduce the critter population in the basement family room - hence the formal name of
"Basement Cat" ... a moniker that began to lose meaning as he wandered outside and upstairs at will.
"Basement Cat" was shortened to "BC" - and his bed in the basement was traded for a
spot on Pat's BigBed - or on one of the Kid's beds as the spirit moved him.

BC grew up with (and *managed*) a whole HORDE of Dawgs throughout his 17 years
as Head Kat and Dawg Wrangler >>>
* Sherman the GSD
* Clarence the GSD
* Zig the Lab
* Cali the BC
* Molly the Hound
* Cinder the visitor
* Smokey the visitor
* Bowser the visitor
* and another Dozen or more Aunt & Uncle Dawgs who have spent time at the Pat Ranch.

"BC" never met a Dawg he couldn't either intimidate or outrun. :D
As the years crept up on him, with poor vision and eventually blindness, and a
loss of hearing taking their toll, ole "BC" managed to hold his own with as many as SIX
Dawgs in "his house" on more than one occasion. Nobody dared to get in BC's way.

Up till the end, "BC" made multiple daily trips down into the basement for a Byte of Krunch,
a sippa wadder, or to step into the potty box.
For a tiny lil Guy, he was *strong like Ox*! I'd alway clip his nails when I had to *pill* him
with his heart pill - otherwise I looked like I'd gone 10 rounds with a wildcat!
Only Kat I knew that *purred* like a Mack Truck while he kicked your pillin hands away
from his mouth and then *SPIT* the pill out long after it 'should' have been swallowed. :p

We're all really gonna **miss ya**, BC ...
but by now you've prolly rounded up Sherman and Clarence and have them
showing you around The Bridge and sharing their cookies with you. Say "HI" to Boots & Bowser.
Drop in to say "HI" to Mom & Dad - they'll keep your spot in the center of the BigBed
open and waiting for you.

GodSpeed, Dear BC!!

Rest in peace, BC!

If you met a small brown rabbit who refuses to be intimidated, that's Miss Hoppy, don't take offense, okay?

I'm so sorry to hear about BC. He sounded like a treasure. I loved reading his little life story. What a long, wonderful life he lived, but how sad you and your family must be without him. I wish you and your family quick healing of some very broken hearts :(

Rest well, BC. You were a very special guy.

I'm so sorry to hear BC had to cross to the RB. :( He sounds like the character and will be missed. I hope it's a comfort that he had a long life full of love - and in charge of both upstairs and downstairs. :)

My thoughts are with you, Pat and Joan.

Rest in peace, sweet BC, you will never be forgotten!
