I was surfing the let's see you thread, and didn't want to hijack. I'm hanging out here because it's Tuesday morning... realm maintenance time! Yes, I'm a World of Warcraft fem-nerd :) I'm a level 70 hunter on Nordrassil server. Jason and I just converted Sirrahsim from her realm addiction :-P

Who else plays WoW?

I used to play Runescape, kind of like WoW but less graphically advanced. I was level 70 on there, working on getting full dragon armor :p.

*raises hand*

I'm actually taking a break because we just bought a house and moved, but once the new expansion comes out, both my hubby and I will probably come back. :D

We're on the Windrunner server. I've got a 70 mage and a 60 druid. My husband has a 70 rogue and a 60 mage.

I've also got a few low level toons on a few miscellaneous servers because sometimes I just needed to get away from all the idiots on my server.

edited to say: And the first few levels are the funnest part for me (and the last few). It's the 30-55 or so that's the long endless grinding, LOL.

GO HORDE! :D

Ooh ooh ooh! me me me!!

This month is my two year anniversary. I play primarily on Hellscream. Suck at PvP :(

Currently have...

lvl70 NE BM Hunter (Kysa (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Kysa)
lvl70 NE Feral Druid (Alletar (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Alletar))
lvl70 Human Fire Mage (Anadaria (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Anadaria))
lvl54 Undead Destro Warlock (Mirina (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Mirina))
lvl49 BE Ice Mage (Kyleigh (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Kyleigh))
lvl21 Undead Holy Priest (Guitarded (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hellscream&n=Guitarded))

...and I think that's it for the ones I primarily play. Seems once I hit 70 I get bored, though, but I also hate lvling...

My mage Anadaria is the best geared and she isn't even that great, most of it is crafted since I'm a 370 Spellcloth Tailor. Don't belong to a raiding guild; as of now I have absolutely zero time to play with school so I couldn't really dedicate myself to a raiding guild right now...

But anyway, My mages are my favorites, and druids are definitely my first true love in the game!!

I CAN'T WAIT for Halloween!!!!! It's my favorite in-game festival!! I loved the headless horseman last year; unfortunately at the time only my hunter was lvl70 and high enough to do the event so she is the only one who got epic rings. This year I have two more 70s to run through and hopefully gear my mage up some more hahaha how sad is that

I have a few on Hellscream (41 druid/60 priest) and some low levels on Windrunner w/my best friend (Katjaye on here)... haven't played in months. Hubby started playing again (he stopped playing EQ2, started WoW the same day, go figure) and he's on Hellscream.

Hellscream, eh? What are your toon's names?? It'd be so ironic if we've ran into each other. I know I randomly found a girl I used to party with a LOT on facebook, I saw her post on a WoW group and recognized her mage's name. Small world!

Then again Hellscream has been around since the beginning so it isn't surprising to bump into someone from the realm occasionally.

Rialynne is the priest.... Merrielle is the druid.
Neither have been played in a LONG time.

Oh yeah - I have a 25 paladin too. Her name is sooo perfect - Honor.
They're all alliance.

I wish I had time to play. Working full time and taking classes full time doesn't leave me any PLAY time :(

My boyfriend plays...I haven't seen much of it, but I sort of assumed I didn't like it so never bothered. I used to play the regular Warcraft and wasn't very good at it. Not sure if this is the same idea? Also, I just couldn't justify spending the money on it every month or however often you have to pay...I may pay attention a little more next time my boyfriend is playing just to see how it works though.

I justify the $15/month because its a form of entertainment. Cable costs how much a month? What about internet? I hardly ever watch TV aside from movies, and well I do browse the net a LOT. But going to the movies for my hubby and I cost well over $15 to do; we opt to stay home and play the game which we can as much and as often as we want for less than we'd spend going to the movies for only a few hours :)

I guess *technically* it does since you do have to pay for a retail copy of the game as well as the $15/month. The game is only like $20 now though. But you also have to buy all upgrades separately, as well... another $20 - $30... however when you buy a retail copy you get 30 days of gameplay for free so you save money I guess /shrug

I think they should lower the price, personally... but it isn't gonna happen because they're all money hungry over there at Blizz HQ ;) I mean seriously, have any of you ever tried calling customer support? I don't even get put on hold, I get a busy signal...

But I still love the game! /sigh

I tried it. So far I have invested about 12 hours over three days into this. Do folks like me play games online? I am a level 7 gnome. or is it dwarf? My kids corrupt me. I think my wow career will be short lived though - I am behind in laundry and forgot to eat yesterday:cool: Last night I dreamed about living in Azeroth and kept trying to find my way out of a tunnel and woke up tangled in my sheets. I have never undertood the appeal of games but I have had fun. This feels addicting.

Hi Mom,

This is Jason. WoW is a lot of fun. Missy got an account and it even encouraged her to get that new computer they have been saving for. Bryan is on his second or third trial and is thinking of a WoW account as a birthday present for himself.

There is actually a detailed MMO demographic website called the Daedalus project. It says that in addition to the obvious 18-30ish males WoW has a big percentage of 40+ females. This is due to the very social nature of the game. They are also more likely to be "officers" in "guilds" and organize in game social events. For example I made a private "guild" (basically a chat and cooperation group) called Peanut Butter Jelly Time, just for Devon and my toons as well as the Grams kids. Similarly a large amount of married WoW players have two accounts to play together, like Devon and I.

Food for thought.

It should be immediately; when you purchase the game you get 30 days free. If you check your account status on the main site it tells you how many days till your next bill is due.

EDIT: Oh forgot to mention, you only get the 30 days free and the other rewards if he signs up under you AND pays for a one-month subscription; so if he hasn't paid for at least 30-days of gameplay yet then you won't get your free 30-days.

My kids have "recruited" me but I can't get the new account to take the code. Will try again. Maybe there has been a fast influx of new players with the special incentives.

So, in the meantime, I trek along with family, and sometimes random players I meet on the trail, and will hook up and get some good training once I add the retail copy and a few months of time.

I am trying to set the timer so I don't get quite so absorbed and that seems to help. Too much time and I get a migraine:cool:

I'm still playing. I have a level 43 Blood Elf Hunter (DarkTora) and a level 21 Tauren (sp?) druid (Kize) We play on The Venture Co server..anyone else on that one? I still haven't decided if I'll pay for it once my 3 months are up...but I'm enjoying it so far. I only started to play because my bf seemed to enjoy it so much and really wanted me to play

I have to admit, I'm growing tired of being killed by Alliance Rouges over and over again though. They seem to find it amusing to kill levels much lower then them. My bf usually logs on to his level 70 Orc warrior and kills them when this happens...

Just in case you didn't know this, they have different types of servers. I started playing on a normal server, so I didn't have this problem. I have a feeling you're on a PVP server where everyone is fair game. I too hate it when high level people comtinually pounce on the lower level toons that don't stand a chance. That's why I typically avoid PVP. I'm not very good at it anyway, even with my high level characters, lol. :D

See if there's a way you and your BF can start new toons on a normal server just for a different experience. That way, it won't be so frustrating. :)

Unfair ganking is the reason why I play on a PvE server. I've tried to play on a PvP server to be with a friend, and it just sucks. Even if you're remotely good at PvP, there is absolutely NO WAY to defend yourself against someone 10 lvls higher than you, if you can even land a hit on them in the first place!

It goes both ways, though; alliance gank horde and horde gank alliance, that's just the way PvP servers work. Sometimes you can /flirt and /giggle your way out of it, but other times they don't care and will one-hit you anyway, lol.

However, if you're alliance and come up to a horde (on any server), type

/s AG EE OO P

And they see

ME LO VE U

sometimes it really takes them by surprise and you may get a few /gasp ;)

Blizz has made leveling to 60 now soooo easy... many of the lower lvl quests that used to be group quests (to kill an elite, a bunch of mobs, etc) has been toned down. Lvling to 60 used to be a challenge, but now its almost too easy.

The first toon you lvl to 60/70 is going to be the hardest, no matter the game play or how "easy" or "hard" the quests are since you're learning and getting used to the game. But the second toon you lvl will go twice as fast since you already know the quests, what to do, where to go, etc.

But man... I had like 19 or 20 days of game play before my first toon hit 60... 24-ish by the time she hit 70... when I lvld my second toon to hit 70 it was after Blizz lowered the XP needed to get to 60 and made the quests easier, I only had like 11 days of game play, and my third/fourth to hit 70 only had maybe 9 days.

Also, if you want a kitty pet, there is a NPC named Tabetha in a house outside the entrance to Stormwind that sells cats, or you can run Deadmines for a Siamese kitty :)

That is, if you're alliance, not sure if you're horde you may want to try the neutral auction houses (there are some in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale; Ratchet, The Barrens; Everlook, Winterspring; and Gadgetzan, Tanaris).

Timmy also, but he's a "rare spawn" on a timer, I think he only shows up a few times a day and he ONLY sells one kitten each time, so if you don't make it to him in time your best bet is the Auction House. And lots of people know about him and try buying the kitten from him to resell on the AH for a considerable profit (I know it costs maybe 1g to buy it from Timmy and I have sold some on the AH for 10g each).

I have all of the kitties except for the white kitten - still want him. I learned the Booty Bay shuffle so one of these days will get serious about seeking out Timmy to get him.

Now have two 75 toons - a DK and Hunter - they get equal time depending on my mood. Also learning Warlock (50) and now Druid (19). Have "met" some nice folks!!

I also have a lvl 8 Undead Warlock named LeMort!! Shes really creepy looking hehe

I forget which server I'm on as I've only played this account for about a week. I do plan to have toons on other servers but I need to dedicate a lot of my WoW time on Brisquet & LeMort for now. I need to lvl them to 80 asap, then I can fart around with other toons on diff servers.

My hunter is now a level 28, and my set of software should be delivered within the next day or two. Then we can transfer her onto my own separate account (in my husband's name because that's the only way you can transfer a toon between accounts), and my husband and I can actually play together instead of taking turns.:D Now to see if I can get the laundry folded and actually have some playing time while the kids are still napping--not likely...

WoW is pretty much all I do right now... I can only play with Digi & Cam so much until I need to do something else.

Brisquet is a lvl80 Beast Master/Survival Hunter on Executus (PVP). Her Guild is "Too Soon". We are #2 on the server & working our way up. Brisquet hasn't helped with that.. I'm still a noob but I'm getting much better at the older instances (older according to our guild). They carry me a lot through them, but I am improving. Right now I'm more interested in PVPing & having a blast in Wintergrasp! Brisquet is the proud owner of a Spirit Bear! Took 3 days of camping the spawn spot until it finally spawned! Luckily no Alliance was around :D

Right now I'm having a blast doing a whole whack of achevies... I have my Pilgrim, Chef, & Explorer titles & the Skunk pet. To my understanding most of the last recipes are Ally recipes so I have to stalk the AH auction house several times a day. There is 1 recipe I want bad, but its going anywhere from 300-1000 gold  I'm waiting to get all the other recipes then I'll buy it as a last resort.

I'm also trying to get the achieves for doing too many quests lol I just have the 5man groups in Icecrown then I'm done that continent.

I'm in Orgamar right now & there are sooooooo many quests to do!! Not to mention all the ones in the zones :S I lvl with the "invite a friend bonus" so I didn't have to do many quests to get to lvl 60... However, doing all the lower lvl quests is super easy & I make a tone of $$ off it! I can pull in about 1000g/night just doing the quests & selling all the junk I get.

My long term goal is to get the traveling Mammoth that has a vender on it so I'll never run out of room in my bags from too much junk.

A few times a month I go & kill the Apes in the Basin for leather & then I sell things I make for a decent penny.. however I give them all to Trevor to sell as he love living in the auction house in Dalaran

I also just discovered BG & LOVE IT!!! I bring my Spirit Bear & most people have never seen it before & either whisper me or single me out & try to kill the bear (darn Allies!!). I don't have PVP gear yet so I kind suck, however I'm the type to go go go go go go go go go go & try to take everyone one out quickly... I do get worried when I can take on 3 lvl80's atacking me & kill them all & still have 75% health, as I KNOW I'm not that good yet...

ANyways, WoW is pretty much all I do now, as I have nothing else to do inbetween pampering the critters.. Trevor is super sweet as he's the one who pays for me to be able to play, as he knows there is no way I could ever afford it. I got the whole WoW set for my b-day last aug. For xmas he got me the WoW mouse! My hand is a little small for the mouse, so I'm having issues learning it... I'm trying to learn 1 button at a time so I can master it, as I suck at the keyboard.. I'm mostly a clicker, however in instances I'm top 3 & can be 1 for a goof 75% of the instance, so being a clicker hasn't slowed me down too much :)

I really love the new random lfg feature. I'm a healer, so I never have to wait! I also am not fond of raiding. I just left my old guild because of a raiding issue... and a leadership issue. Politics! ugh.

Thats too bad... My current group is really good. I'm sure thats part of the reason our guild is #2 on our server (I take NO credit, except helping Trevor get his new axe (50k!!!) sooner then later by farming for him & giving him all my gold lol).

I also like the new LFG feature (across 10 world servers I believe), I'm always grouped with Trevor when I go, but most of the group is random... the odd time 1-2 guildies are with us, but it's rare.
