I wanted to post a tribute to Tiger...if need be, it can go to Memorial later, but dear Emeraldgreen has not posted yet, and little wonder.
Tiger never appeared in any other forum than Cat Health - but he captured many hearts in the past year, and many grew to love this gorgeous brown tabby fluffy boy!
Here's to you, handsomest Tiger.

"Jimmy hasn't left Tig's side since he got home from surgery. It is so sweet."

"Here is a video of him that I took tonight. It's dark because my camera is terrible and doesn't film well at night. You can see that he is looking pretty good though, despite what he's been through. The sounds he's making is purring but it's extra loud because of the surgery and because he comes right up to the camera. He stands up on his hind legs and hangs onto the cupboard handle every time I'm getting his food ready because he is so eager to get his dinner! The clanging sound in the middle of the video is me mixing his prednisone in with his food. I'm hoping to wean him off that in this coming week."

Denise's reading May 21/08
Tiger was quite guarded with me initially – almost incredulous that I was trying to contact him but he did relax a few minutes into the session.
He seems like quite a robust character who is coping well with his illness – it causes him more annoyance than discomfort and he does find the breathing part tiring at times.
I did a quick body scan on him and his nose seemed to be relatively clear at the moment. This makes me think that whatever is there won’t be around long. I wasn’t totally convinced that Tiger’s symptoms were 100% genuine – I did get the feeling that his cough was a little bit forced at times. It is almost as if he sees the other cats being treated and just wants in on the action. Doesn’t like to feel he is missing out on anything.
Tiger doesn’t make any connection between you and his illness so doesn’t realise that the things you are trying to give him, that he doesn’t like, are for his own good. He is a bit suspicious of things being hidden in his food and although I tried to reassure him that you wouldn’t give him anything just for the sake of it maybe the straight forward “pill down the throat” approach might work best with Tiger.
Tiger’s equilibrium is a bit unbalanced at the moment – he has always felt safe and secure with you and is rather confused by all the frantic levels of energy in the house. Like the others, he doesn’t really understand what is going on but feels that he should. He senses your unhappiness and isn’t sure if he should be feeling the same way. He knows how you are feeling isn’t directly related to him and is well aware of how important he is to you. The good news is that he is secure enough in himself and his position in the family to know that it is not a permanent situation and that he will soon be back in charge.
Tiger does like his time outside – its gives him the opportunity to keep an eye on all aspects of his domain. He rests when he wants to.
Although there is a link with Charlie the bond between them is not that strong and I don’t believe that he sees him.

Tiger is not doing that great. He has been on Baytril for 8 days now and nothing much has changed. It seemed at first that it was helping but he is back to his worsened condition. I called the vet and asked them if I could try giving him Benedryl to help with nasal congestion. She said I could try it but she didn't think it would help. She was right, it just made him really wobbly and tired and I later found on the internet that Benedryl is helpful for a runny nose but can worsen congestion. Yikes.
I went and bought a Vicks vaporizor and put him in the bathroom and put the shower on to steam up the bathroom, along with the Vicks vaporizor. He seemed even worse the next day. I later found out that eucalyptus isn't good for cats and it's one of the ingredients in Vicks.
June 7/08 From Denise:
Prayers for my friend Tiger (it might help you to know that you are feeling worse than he is)
June 8 -
Tiger is in his spa right now and curled up in his furry donut bed. For now he seems comfortable.
June 11 -
Tiger's vet is getting him in for surgery tomorrow, or the next day at the latest. Emeraldgreen emailed me and said that if she couldn't get him in - he was so bad she had decided to have him PTS.
June 13 - Surgery #4
June 16 - Paddy and Tiger in the sun! :)

Tiger is fading but he's still enjoying small amounts of food and short visits outside and brushings. He sleeps alot and I'm finding him more and more in the 'meatloaf' position...I'll post a video of him in a day or two which will show how he's changed. But in the meantime, here is a video I took of him more than a week ago of a walk we took in the woods. Unfortunately he isn't doing as well now but he has good days and bad. The good days are the best!

Thank you so much Candace! This was such a kind thing for you to do and must have taken quite awhile to put it all together. I just finished looking at all the pics and all the videos and it was so, so wonderful. I appreciate it very much.
I'm just going to post a thread about Tiger's last day but had to post in this thread first to thank you for doing this for Tiger and for me.
p.s. Thank you guys for your posts on this thread too.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about our boy Tiger? This is a wonderful tribute to a very special cat king. Candace did a great job putting it all together, too.

That was such a beautiful tribute to Tiger. It truly touched my heart and I couldn't help but cry the whole way through. Tiger was a very special kitty who touched many. I can see that he was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. He was and will always remain in the hearts of PT. To the grieving family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can only hope all the wonderful messages you recieve her on PT can provide you some comfort.
