I took Amos to his "new home" late yesterday afternoon. I felt so bad, I actually cried myself to sleep on my couch last night.

This morning, I talked to Ruthie, and it seems he was just as upset. He hid the whole time, did not eat or drink, or potty and SCREAMED all night long. When she got him from behind the dryer, he ran and hid again...

Needless to say, I picked him up this afternoon. When I got there, he was under their couch, I dont know how he got under there, it was only about 1 inch off the ground, so he would have had to S*Q*U*E*E*Z*E* his big butt under.

He immediately saw me and tried to get out, but couldnt, so they lifted the couch, and he ran to me, put his arms up on my arms, and head bumped me over and over. He then crawled into my lap and made biscuits... Thats my boy! He made it very clear, MOMMAS BACK!

He even walked over and laid on their fireplace hearth.. Just like at my house. He just wanted to show them that he COULD be friendly, on his own terms, with HIS momma!

I showed him his carrier and he ran in. We came home. He is now running around like nuts, being his normal pain in the butt self:p

LESSON: Even in you THINK that your cat wants more than he already has, he probably doesnt.

Amos did not care if he had to contend with 14 other cats and 2 dogs, he was home, with his momma and his family. I will never rehome one of mine, even for a night, ever again!!!! I love my boy!

WELCOME HOME AMIE BOY!!!

OMG, I have tears streaming down my face. I can't believe his reaction to seeing you. I've only seen one other person have that kind of relationship with their cats.
I'm sorry for Ruthie that it didn't work out, but I am SOOO happy Amos is home where he belongs. You did try Katie, know that. Amos knows you saved his life over a year ago and he's not going to trust anyone but you.
Welcome back home Amos!! :D

Thank you Cindy. I felt the same way. It was actually gut wrenching leaving him, and even more so seeing his reaction to me. I could not believe it myself... I will NEVER try that again, EVER.

He got whipped cream a minute ago, his very favorite. I just hope he knows I wanted to give him more... It was NOT because I did not want him. Not at all.

PS- I already found her another kitten in need of a home, it was going to be taken to the pound this weekend. A female orangie. So atleast the new kitten got another chance in the process!

My heart hurt for both of you reading this. I am so, so glad he is back home with you. Like you, I have so many and think they would be better off in a home where they would be number one, not one of 17. But just thinking about loosing any of them is almost unbearable.

Mary, that is the way I was thinking. That less cats = more attention and less to have to contend with. That is just SO untrue...

Amos was my friendliest foster, LOVES everyone, and everything. He has never met a stranger. I thought it would be perfect for him. I was wrong. He did not need all that. He did not want that. He is happy where he is, with his kitties friends and siblings, and the person who loves him the most. And I could not be any more happy.

PS- I said Amos was my friendliest ^, not is. He is now NOT considered a foster. I have never said "I have 15 cats" without adding that 5 of those were fosters in person. I always add the foster part.

NOW- I just have 15 cats, and NONE are up for adoption:D

I'm glad to hear that Amos is now back home where he belongs.:) I know that cats hate change and this may be why he was so unhappy but it's also very clear that you have a very strong bond with him.:)
