Rumor has it that from different parts of the world people are drawn in a magnetic way to one place.......
Some come down from the far south, others from the far north west.....
And the place itself is also not so far from being really really north........
If I only knew exactly what's happening. Can please some detectives come and help me find out?;)

But wait, there's more ......

Thank you for coming to visit me and for all the wonderful pressies and treats and cuddles. I miss you and Uncle Siegmar and hope you come back soon so I can play with you some more.
I am so tired today (being the purrfect hostess is exhausting:)) and must get my beauty sleep today (and dream of Tigris, of course;))

We've just returned from an extraordinary evening filled with great friends, good food, good wine, great stories (especially about the fabulous felines that we serve and protect:D) and many, many smiles.
This event took place at the Boathouse Restaurant in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, British Columbia. To confirm that PetTalk indeed has us all well trained - here are some PTers in action ....
...... recognize anyone???

This evening fused some wonderful friendships .... with really terrific people from East, West and South!!
Barbara and Siegmar have been vacationing in British Columbia since early July. They spent some time with Gunter and I last week before going off to Quadra Island and Tofino. It was the first time we'd met and it was delightful to meet them. They leave for Germany tomorrow - until next time:)
Gini has been visiting with Slick since last week. This was the first time we have met Vicki (Slick) and Gini - what fun:D Probably only the beginning .... I'm guessing;)
Happy and safe travels everyone,

This is just to tell that we are back- tired but with the best memories ever. (And we got upgraded in business class- isn't that great?) I'll have to upload pics one of these days- that is when Filou and Tigris let me do it ;)
They are well- that's the best news.
Yeah- that dinner was so much fun. Yesterday we had breakfast with Gini and Slick and had to shed some tears when we had to leave.
Canada is such a beau-ti-ful country. We feel now that Munich (27 deg Celsius) is too hot.

Barbara, so good to hear from you and I'm glad that you both made it home safely. Upgrade to business class?? You deserve it. Please give that Tigris and Filou a kiss and hug from Auntie Slick.
Gini leaves here to fly home on Friday August 1st. Sorry, but you will all just have to wait until then for me to upload and post pics. :p I promise you, it is worth the wait.
You have no idea how much fun it is to have a Pet Talk meeting - making new friends and talking lots and lots about our kitties.
With or without wine it was a wonderful evening. (wine? - and who am I kidding?):D
So glad to hear Barbara and Seigmar returned home on time and safely.
Isn't it sad that we need a vacation to rest after our vacations? But long flights home are very tiring.
Slick has some incredible pictures - and I have some as well - I have to wait until I get home to download mine.
We are just going to have to create a Camp Pet Talk, so more of us can get together at one time.

When Barbara and Siegmar first arrived at my place, Max had to check out the goods thoroughly.
Barbara brought some of that addicting Vitamin paste for Max which he just loves. He gets a little bit once a week at a treat. Sorry don't have any pictures of that. Barbara also brought me a gift too....some salad tossers in the shape of bear claws. They are awesome.

Great pictures, Slick! And I have to say, you look absolutely fabulous -- not only are you physically gorgeous, you just seem to radiate absolute HAPPINESS -- you are GLOWING! I'm so glad to see these pics of you! It warms my heart.
And that Max -- oohhhh what a mushy faced fluffball! What I wouldn't give to plant a kiss on that head.

How tolerant Max was - such a good boy! Allowing himself to be picked up and adored so much!
(I bet he misses it just a teensy bit!;) )
What a great visit! Wow - I envy you guys!
My mom has taken a notion to visit the Butchart Gardens (sp?) at some point...have NO idea what the best time of year is - but maybe a few of us could meet up?
If not for having to find my mom a new home page in 2004, I never would have found Pet Talk! And she does peer over my shoulder now and again, and I show her things here. So she could be an Honorary PTr?
Great pics and stories - wonderful!:D

Aaawwww- I wanted to post my pics yesterday but had to de-install and re-install Siegmar's CD burner which broke down and he cannot live without it.
These pics are fantastic- they reflect so much what a wonderful time we had. I have a very good portrait of Slick so stay tuned.
Thanks a million time to our Vancouver hosts Betty, Gunter and Eve, Slick and Max.
And Gini- that was some whale watching! I saw humpbacks so far and grey whales but of course I want to see some Orcas and you saw them that close. Awesome!

Max of course had to check what was in the bag - like all kitties do. LOL! I’m sure it was worthwhile. :) I’m very impressed that Barbara was allowed to hold Max - and what a great picture it is!
It’s so nice to finally see who Bengalz is... and her husband, and it’s nice you’re so close to each other. :)
The restaurant looks fabulous - what a gorgeous view - and a yummy dessert! :p
I love seeing you look so fresh, Slick, like Tonya says: You radiate happiness and good health! :D
The whale watching must have been awesome, I would have loved to see them that close - I almost could have, as recently, a whale was spotted straying around in the waters around Denmark.
So glad you all had a great time!

Hey, that would be great! And if not, I need to visit the west coast at some point. ;)
Sounds wonderful - maybe we need to do both
At our breakfast with Barbara and Siegmar, they shared their pictures of Tigres and Filou.
You absolutely would be amazed at the wonderful pictures that Siegmar has taken. You actually gasp at the way he has captured the natural light and how the kitties just glisten. Each picture is just a work of art.
I wish that it would be possible for everyone to see them.
I can imagine the pictures that they got from their vacation - maybe if we whine or beg we could get them to share a few.:D
Sometimes when you are in the middle of a wonderful event, you don't fully appreciate it at the moment. Now, Barbara and Siegmar are back in Germany, we have left Slick in Canada and I am back home in California.
And a breakfast has become a very dear memory spent with some pretty wonderful people.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time with Slick and Max - oh that Max is just a little walking doll. And to be able to share in our great dinner together - these are memories that I will always treasure.

Barbara and Gini,
You are both so right - meeting a PetTalker is an experience like non other:) You do feel like you've known this person a long time and the first time you set eyes on them in real life - all you want to do is give them an enormous hug just like you do when meeting a good friend you haven't seen in ages. Not to get mushy - but when you meet a new Pet Talker - so many of the ways you size up new people are just put aside. You immediately start talking about your pets - and you hear and see the love and devotion, care and appreciation for their animals - that you just know -
THIS IS A GOOD PERSON!!
The rest comes easy - as there is no ice to break.

Alec will be so impressed that you took a photo especially for him. Those cups look positively tasteful – a step up from some of the horrors he seems to have collected. Although he does have nice trophy from a Jaguar track day he once got as a present – the day, not the trophy. :p

Karen,
I am certain that Alec and Gunter would have many stories to share about their racing adventures :D I believe it's called "bench racing" and I have experienced a lot of that over the years ;) as I'm sure you have too. I really hope we can all meet some day and hear all those stories :D It would be so fun!

The 'magic hat' would have loved to have hitched a ride back north! I am going to see if I can send it to the next mystery meeting.
Slick, let me know the next time........Your hat is still in vogue.

Richard - the next time you'd better haul your butt up here and deliver that hat in person!!! I'm sure there are many newcomers scratching their heads wondering about this magic hat. I looked on past threads but the links are all to Imagestation. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it.:D
By the way, Bengalz (Betty) and I are trying to hook up for a mini meeting sometime in the next month.:) Can hardly wait!

Oh yeah- missed that hat. Should it have been in Vancouver?
It was born in Vancouver/New Westminster. Then it migrated to Southern California and caused great embarrassment at the airport.
It LOVED Southern California and went to live with Richard.
(because he looks so handsome wearing it).

Well Richard, it seems most appropriate that you should be the one to bring it on home ;) I suspect Slick would agree with me :D So.... what's the ETA on your arrival ??? We could arrange for 'Mystery Meeting #2' - just say the word :D
P.S. If you need help .... perhaps Sara and Gini can accommodate??;)

What a great thread! I just see it now, never too late :D
One nice thing with PT members is that even if they don't know much each other they are able within 5 minutes to roll on the floor when a pet is present :D
