Well, I thought about it, and I'm still going to do it. The way I figure it, having the body around is like one of those memorials. It's like it's saying, "in loving memory of this pet". I know that it is clinging onto an old spirit, but at least I can always look at my pets' adorable faces everyday and remember how they used to brighten my day :). So when their time comes, I'm going to have them stuffed.

I don't think I could handle that. My friend's dad is an avid hunter and their house is full of taxidermy. It creeps me out. Not that looking at your pets would be creepy, but somehow I just don't think I could stand looking at my dogs but knowing they aren't alive. :( I'd rather just look at my photos of them, and maybe do a painting to hang on the wall.

If that is your decision then I think that you should go ahead and proceed with it.

I sadly missed your original post about this, so I won't throw in my opinion now when your mind is set. It's your call, so do what you will and good luck with it all!

I guess I'm kinda glad things like this only exists in the USA and not in Sweden...
