Well, Taz doesn't seem to be wanting to eat since Paizly has come home. :( But when I am filling Paizly's dish he is there meowing his head off at me.
Right now Paizly is on wet Felidae and dry Iams. I'm not sure if I'm going to change that or not. But my question is should I just put them both on the same food? And how long should Paizly eat "kitten" food? AND if I do put them on the same food, what should I put them on? Right now Taz just eat kitty junk food - Purina dry and Friskies wet. I know it's not the best food, but when he was sick I just wanted him to eat. So I'm open to new food, probably going to have to stick with the wet and dry mix anyway.

Any advice/help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. :)

;)Well, this might be unpopular, but I say let them share the same food(AS LONG AS IT ISNT KITTEN FOOD). So as one doesnt think the other gets better food.

Kittens need kitten food up to one year. Taz should not eat kitten food though. It will just make him chunky;)

Why not try innova evo (for cats and kittens alike) and see if that works. Or atleast try to find a food for both, kittens and cats:D Hope this helps!

You can mix the kitten food with the adult food so both are getting half and half. Or, schedule 3 feedings a day to make sure both cats are eating their designated foods.

When I brought Gigi and Steve home, Steve only wanted to eat Gigi's adult food  so I mixed the two to keep them both happy. I also gave them extra wet food servings.

I try to keep the kittens on 'kitten' food till a year old. I've used Royal Canine for kitten food with good results and then transferred to Wellness or Innova for adult cat food. It all depends on the cat and how well the food works for their system. Each cat is different and will have various results on the different brands. To me, there is not one ideal cat food, so you'll have to experiment.

In the past, I would have suggested Nutro, but there's been too many recalls and poor quality control issues that I wouldn't feel confident suggesting that brand today. :(

Thanks Katie!! :) Yes, the Felidae wet food is for cats and kittens. I'm not exactly sure which Iams Cathy was feeding her though. But I guess I could just find something for both.
Thank you so much!! :D :D

Sorry Russian Blue, we were posting at the same time. :) Well, I'm still keeping Paizly separate so it's not a problem of them eating each others food. I just think Taz smells her's when I fix it so he thinks he should get some. LOL But thank you for the suggestions. I will look for the brands you named when I go to the pet store tonight. I do still have lots of Taz's old food. So you think it'd be okay to mix his old food with what I'm feeding Paizly? That would be nice. :)

Cindy, sure. Mix the two and see if he will eat it that way. Just mix alittle to see if he eats it, so you wont waste the whole bag if he doesnt!

I just dont buy 2 or 3 different foods anymore, that gets pricey with all of mine;)

It's actually the adult Iams that Sherpa eats, that was why I made sure to get her nice rich canned kitten food. :)

Ok, thanks! :) I didn't make it to the store last night, but I'm going to stop there on my way home from my orientation (at the shelter I'm going to volunteer at) this morning.

I WOULD TRY A FEW SAMPLES IF YOUR PET FOOD STORE HAS THEM, I DO THAT IF I CAN FOR THE FOUND CATS , AND THATS HOW I DISCOVERED ROYAL CANIN AND FELIDAE AND INNOVA.
MY CATS LOVE INNOVA CANNED, AND THERE ARE NO PRESERVATIVES!!
I WOULD BLEND THE FOODS AS ITS BETTER IF THEY EAT TOGETHER, AND DONT SEE THEMSELVES AS RIVALS FOR THE FOOD!!!:D:)

This is how my cats are so they all need to be eating the same food. Now they all eat Innova Evo dry and canned food and they all love it.:) When my cats were still kittens, I would usually feed them kitten food until they were about 6 months of age and then I'd gradually switch over to adult cat food. The Innova Evo is for all ages though and I know that Felidae is also like that. Good luck.:)

I also love the innova evo, but warning, the first two- 4 weeks, you wont love cleaning the potty pans. It literally stunk up my whole house for days. Everytime one would use it, I would have to scoop IMMEDIATELY and take it outside. WHEW!:o

BUT the kitties love it, have perfect coats, and eat alot less. The smell fades:D

Mine still have very stinky poos especialy if they don't cover them up. I always have Oust close by for this reason. They were also starting to have bad breath too. I asked my vet about this and she said that it was from eating a high protein diet. Now their breath isn't as bad since I've been using CET Oral Hygiene Rinse on them. They've also all lost some weight and eat less so they're all in great shape.:)

Could you give Taz some canned food (maybe just a taste of Paizly's) so that he doesn't feel "neglected"? :p  Transitions are tough, so I'd make sure I made him feel "special" too, lol.

Oh, I am trying. I spend quality time with him and Zoee too. And I'm giving Taz the same canned food I'm giving Paizly (mixed with his other stuff) and he's still not eating it very well. But it hasn't been a full week yet so I'm just going to give it more time. I'm also going to ask the vet on Tuesday about Taz and his not eating and she was she says about it.
It's strange....he's not hiding out which is what I would expect of him if he's pissed. But its obvious he is not happy with the intruder. This morning I brought Paizly to Bruce in bed and when Paizly looked over at Taz, who was on the floor, he began hissing and growling. Let me also just share that the very first time they saw each other I was holding Paizly and Bruce was holding Taz. For several seconds not a sound out of either of them. Then it was Paizly that started the hissing first. Since then Taz won't look at her without hissing/growling. I'm just hoping that once Paizly is out in the rest of the house that Taz will learn to accept her. Just as he's done the dogs - DJ and then Zoee.
Wow, sorry for the babbling!!

--hope you know I'm teasing about Taz feeling neglected!!! You know how they get when they think they're not getting some of whatever food someone else is getting, lol.

Oh I know you were teasing Jennie. :p But that has been my worst fear, that Taz will not accept her or make himself sick with stress.
Well....GOOD NEWS!! Taz ate all his food this morning! Woo Hoo!! So there is hope yet. :D

The California Natural did the same thing when I switched over. I still have some cats (Calloway, especially) who still have really stinky poops. I'm switching over to EVO, so I guess we'll just go through that all again, lol. Yay!
