Well, you know those boxes that are located usually in vet's offices and pet stores that help save homeless animals or help save the police dogs?? Well how many people contribute to those?? I just want to know. ;)

I do put money in whenever I see those.

I dedicate every day, however, to helping the poor little homeless souls at the shelters where I work & volunteer.

I make regular donations to 2 rescue places and donate to other ones off and on during the year.

I contribute to our SPCA all the time. We also have a "dog jog" here every year and I enter into that. The proceeds go to the SPCA and the Rescue Foundations.

Did folks see the "free dog food" thread Sammi started? It's a link to it here (http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13957&) and if you fill out the form (put PetoftheDay.com in where you heard it, as Pet Talk is also the name of a radio program someone else has) even if you don't have a dog, or your dog doesn't like that food, you can donate it to your local shelter or humane society! It's a little bit, but lots of little bits add up!

They don't have those boxes for contrinutions at my vet's offices, but we aren't there much (thankfully, Miss Hoppy is pretty self-maintaining, even trims her own nails) and maybe they've added them since I have been.

I try to donate when I can to either the SPCA or the ARF foundation. I haven't done the dog jog that Turner mentioned but maybe one day I will, like when Winter either gets under control on a leash or Smudge stops trying to yank me across the street to see other dogs.

They don't have those boxes at my vet's office but I send donations to Best Friends, YGRR, Little Shelter, ASPCA, and some other rescue organizations.

Andrew and I always contribute to shelters and animal rescue organizations. We donate money and supplies all the time. I am glad to hear that others hear do too :)

Remember, money and supplies are not the only things you can donate to animals rescue groups and shelters. If you can not afford it, donate your time! It is just as valuble as money.

I stated "Most of the Time". The only reason for that, is I go garage saleing to find stuff that they need. Once I get a good quantity, I split it up and deliver.

One item a lot of places need are bathroom carpets. The rectangular carpet. These fit very nicely into crates and are small enough to put into the washer for sterilizing.

Actually right now I really don't have much money. Most of it goes to buy stuff for Nebo. But I have donated in the past. I'm working on signing Melissa and I up to volunteer at Wasatch Humane. Also I have donated several Pet Portraits and art related things. I pay for all the materials, shipping, and it's very time consuming...so I guess you could say that's donating time and money. Many of them are used in raffles.

I have money deducted from my paycheques every 2 weeks that goes to the local humane society. We also participate in some of their fundraisers like they have a Paws in Motion walk every year that we attended for the first time this year. We also collect all of our old newsapers and icecream pales and bring those to them.

And we aso put money in those boxes at vets or grocerie stores.
