My brother is in desperate need of some help.

He needs to find either a foster home for Maynard (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=136460&highlight=maynard) for a few months or someone that would be willing to keep him.
I guess he had moved in with his girlfriend and from what he says they weren't supposed to have large dogs there. They are building a house and thought they could "sneak" him in until they got the house done. Well, it looks like he's been found out and now it's either him or them:( They had 10 days starting yesterday 6/28.

He's called the rescues in the area and no one is taking in dogs now, they're full up.

So if you or anyone you know would be able to help please let me know.
The help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's some stats and pictures of Maynard...

I've personally met him and he's a sweet boy, but doesn't really have a lot of manners (he jumps quite a bit, but a spray bottle works well to keep him off)
Pitbull mix
Around 1 1/2 yrs old
Neutered
Good with other dogs
He's been an outdoor dog all his life

These were taken 3/08

Oh no, what a sad situation. :( My sister lives in Phoenix but she's only allowed to have small dogs where she lives. Maybe they could try posting in the classifieds to see if they can find someone to keep him for a few months. There's Best Friends in Utah near the Arizona border...they could try contacting them too, they likely don't have room to take him, but they have a lot of contacts in rescues that might be able to help. Best of luck to them!

Thanks girls. I've pm'd the people you suggested and gave my brother the name of Best Friends.
No luck yet. Keep your fingers crossed he finds somewhere to go otherwise I don't know what will happen to him:(

My brother ...
They are building a house
and thought they could "sneak" him in until they got the house done.

:(

Don't they have a "Friend" who'd like to borrow a dog for the summer?

How far along is the New House?
How about moving Maynard onto the New House property to become the
Construction Boss/Security Officer?

Might be time for some phone calls to Boarding Kennels - price getting him
"a room" on a long-term-stay rate.

Or buy him a Bus Ticket to Piqua.

I know at the Gilbert Vet, they usually allow dogs there. Though i'm not sure if they are accepting right now. Since my brother's ex usually has dogs there, she now has two pitties.

but i wish i could help, i don't need another dog at this moment. But i'll try and see if anyone is looking for a dog here soon.

Well, I guess I have some good news.

Bill has found a new permanent home for Maynard.

He delivers medical supplies and decided he'd ask ALL of his stops if they know any way to help him out.
He finally came across one girl who asked to see pictures. Lo and behold, her parents just had a dog that looks almost exactly like Maynard who passed away not long ago. So she got on the phone with them asap and they were too excited to take him:)

It's not the perfect answer, but at this point it's the only answer.

Phred, they just broke ground on the new house so there's no way he could stay there. And all friends either think he's "too big" or because...you guessed it, he's a pit bull:(

And at least now he'll be able to get updates on him and he'll have lots of room to run (they live in the country)

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!

Well ... I guess livin on a Country Estate beats the  POUND any time.

Did 'First Dad' arrange for visiting rights?

Make sure someone fits him with an ID Tag - so if he decides to *take a hike back home*
he can be returned quickly.

Be a Good Boy, Maynard! ~~~ Stay in touch. :(
