Earlier this night I was sitting on the couch, with Gypsy in my lap. I was petting her, I felt lumps on her side, foot, and leg.

I wonder if they are painful? If she has trouble walking, standing? Most importantly, what could they be?

We are planning on taking her to the vet soon. I am worried of what he will say about these strange bumbs.

Anybody have a clue of what they are? Maybe your dog has had them before? What did you do?

Look at them - what do they look like? I'll assume they aren't ticks, but they could be bug bites, they could be infected wounds, they could be fatty tumors under the skin - the possibilities are endless. Are the bumps red? Are they warm? How big are they?

I definately would take her to the vet. Cassie has a few of the fatty tumors in her abdomen and chest. The vet told us that older dogs get them. She had one on the side of her face for over a year. We thought it was a fatty tumor, too, until it burst over Memorial Day weekend. Ended up, it was a cyst that had been festering for a long time and was full of infection. She had surgery to remove it, and she was a different dog in 48 hours....feeling so much better, eating better, more energy. We won't assume anything anymore. More than likely, they are some sort of fatty tumors or subaceous (sp?) cysts. All are harmless and very common according to our vet.
