Grants for Non-Profit Organizations

Hi All,

Many of you know that I volunteer my time to help Shirley Fonda of Fondas Foundlings out with her cats.

I've been doing this for probably over a year now or so. I want to start getting her more funds so that way we can advertise more and so that way she won't have struggle to keep up with the food and vet costs.

When I started helping Shirley she had over 80 cats and now she is down to 62 cats. I started looking this morning online and printing out a bunch of applications and we are going to submit them in hopes that she will get a good grant.

I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever done a grant or knows of a good place to go to get some funds.

I'm attaching some pictures of some kittens she just rescued.

I WISH I KNEW WHERE SOME GRANT MONEY WAS AROUND HERE AS THE ANIMAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION COULD USE SOME AS THEY ARE OVERWHELMED BY THE FLOOD OF UNWANTED CATS AND KITTENS.
RIGHT NOW DAE HAS A POOR MAMMA CAT AND 6 LITTLE ONES WHO ARE JUST STARTING TO EAT SOLID FOOD.
I PRAY FOR ALL THESE DEAR SAD LITTLE LOST CREATURES OF OUR ALL MIGHTY LORD GOD ABOVE.:love::love:

I just did a google search with these items:

animal rescue grant money

Several places came up.

Also check the large institutions:
HSUS, Animal Planet, Cat Fancy Magazine, things like that. I know I saw something about 3 months back in Cat Fancy, of a place giving $5000 grants.


Also check: PetCo Charitable Fund, PetsMart Charitable Fund (these could be Foundation, not sure), and your local state's veterinary association!

I had a book years ago that explained the procedure. I needed it when I was managing a band from S. Africa but I never did use it because they were always booked w/shows. I wish I could recall the name of it but I'm sure if you go online you should be able to find one. Good luck.

I think I have a grant website bookmarked at work. I will try to remember to send it to myself at home and then post here. It may be Friday before I post again as I will get home very late tomorrow. I would send it from work, but my computer at work doesn't let me past the main page of Cat of the Day. If you want to PM your private email I could send it to from work.

I don't know about specific organizations that provide grants for you. But I have plenty of experience writing grants (in health care) so I can help you with them or review them if you want.
