Today in the early morning, PT's special correspondents Killearn Kitties and Barbara were brought to Chisinau airport to go home and tell the story.
Here it is:

I arrived Friday and was part of a wonderful dinner in a place outside that had the atmosphere of a farm garden- lots of flowers, golden evening sun and great food that I can pronounce now but not spell.
I heard Karen and Alec arrive in the hotel at 3 a.m.- their plane was late.
The next morning Vio's sister's friend picked us up and showed us around Chisinau the capital of Moldova. An international place like all others? No! In Chisinau the roosters will still wake you- at least in the nice living area where Vio and Greg have their house. All houses have gardens full of veggies and flowers. And dogs. And cats. And roosters.

Now to the pictures:
Here we go with the preparations for the big ceremony:
The groom cleans his brother up ;)
Killearn Kitties' dress was fabulous.
(BTW- you should see Moldovan elegance- stunning!!!!)
The bride's sister Carolina in a dress she designed and sewed herself. We saw more of her designs and they were all fantastic.

Stay tuned.....

The ceremony took place in an elegant restaurant. They had 120 guests. I cannot count the countries people came from- it must have been about 7.
I have never seen a couple that exuded that much happiness :D
Unfortunately I have no pictures of the Moldovan round dances.
Why? I have danced as I have not often danced in my life :D

The pictures: the bride just got out of the white limousine.
Nervous but happy before the ceremony.
Happy and no longer nervous after it.
The cake- it was delicious with lots of roast almonds, cream and about 100.000 calories- but we danced it all off ;)

Off to the last days......

Monday and Tuesday we were so happy to get to see some of Moldova's beauties.
We went to see a winery that has been installed in an old limestone quarry and that has subterranean cellars that are hundreds of km long.
And yesterday we went to see some area where- in fortfications from B.C. medieval monasteries have been installed. The landscape is lovely and very green- reminded me of Eastern France.

The first two pictures are from the winery- ok, we didn't drink the wine from glasses that big ;)
The others show the landscape- one of them shows Vio and her brother near an old stone cross. And there is a horsecart and a cute calf that had broken lose and that we could see from above galloping through a meadow until it found - hm either his mom or an auntie and began happy grazing ;)

We had the best time of our lives- and whoever wants to see the kitties has to go to Vio's kitties (http://www.petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?p=2020046&posted=1#post2020046)

I heard Karen and Alec arrive in the hotel at 3 a.m.- their plane was late.
I would just like to make it clear at this point that we did not wake the entire hotel by arriving in a rowdy fashion. Barbara was in the room opposite ours and happened to be awake at that point.

I don't think that there is too much more that I can add to this report, Barbara, other than adding a couple of photos.

Vio had an absolutely adorable flower girl who was terribly pleased with her lovely dress

Greg making sure that ring is good and tight
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee64/karen31358/Vio%20Wedding/Wedding4.gif

There is a tradition in Moldova for people to take flowers to a wedding, and I have never seen so many! Someone said that the amount of flowers brought symbolises the number of years the bride and groom will spend together, so I hope Vio and Greg make the most of those 1832 years. :D After the ceremony the bride and groom went in to dinner under a beautiful arch of roses. It would be a lovely picture if that leaf were not covering the bride's face.

And, I just have to add that I bet, somewhere in that beautiful dress on the beautiful day for the beautiful bride, there was at least one cat hair that snuck itself on, even if no one could see it, certain kitties were surely part of the proceedings! ;)

Thanks everyone for sharing the day with all of us!

Vio was not sure she had something borrowed on her- so the cat hair may have stood for this ;)

I could not have asked for a better wedding - I had my family, my friends with me. The weather was very beautiful too.

I still think it's funny how the word husband sounds, but I'm getting used to it.

As for the pictures, I will get the professional pictures in a while, maybe one week and I'll post some.

It was cat hair that Greg is taking off the back of his brother's trousers in the first photo. It looked as though he had sat in a favourite kitty spot. :D

It is a wedding tradition. The day of my wedding my father sat in a chair in my living room. The room from which Edwina was banned. When my dad stood up his black pants were covered in gray hair.....so much for banned!:rolleyes:

I cannot wait to see more photos....
