Hiya. I was hoping someone could give me some advice, or just help me understand what's wrong with my dog Taggart.
About a week ago, or so, Taggart peed inside the house (which definitely isn't normal for him) and even worse it had blood in it. I took him to the vet the same day and the vet gave him some antibiotics and said it was most likely an infection and should clear up already the next day. But just in case it didn't, he also took a blood sample so he could check if something was up with the kidneys. The antibiotics didn't work however, so the vet went on to test the blood but luckily it wasn't the kidneys either.
So now Taggart is on stronger antibiotics and .. I don't know.. He's suppose to take those for a week and today is his second day and I haven't seen any improvement so far and I'm beginning to feel very frustrated. Taggart doesn't seem to be in pain tho'.. and he hasn't peed inside the house again but he still needs to go about 10 times more often than normal and a lot of the time he just pees a little bit and then he just stands there and looks like he's peeing but nothing comes out. Sometimes his pee looks a bit bloody and other times it looks fine. So yeah. Something is definitely wrong... but I don't know what and apparently neither does the vet! -_-
I'm beginning to doubt that my vet knows what he's doing but sadly there are only two vets in this country and I trust the other one even less >_<
Anybody have any advice or something? Do the actions of the vet seem logical to you? I know vets can't always know exactly what's wrong with an animal. But still...this has been going on for so long I'm beginning to get really worried :(
