The FIRST Weekend in July, 2008 ~

Note: This is a 3-Day weekend - the Holiday is celebrated on Friday,
then we also have Saturday and Sunday.

Time? First Arrivals can be 10AM or even earlier...
the Real Crowd starts forming between
11AM and Noon...
The DieHards stay till almost Dark.

Well ...

We have "tried" to hold a Findlay 4th Gathurin in years gone by ...

And for the most part they turned into a *bust* with poor attendance,
mostly due to "Family Commitments" that couldn't be avoided.
We've had to last-minute Cancel the Pavilion more than once. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

As for the Canadian Neighbors ... they have a hard time getting to Findlay -
there aren't too many of them living a "comfortable drive" away from Findlay.

I am very interested. I came back and raved about how much fun we had.

I don't think getting her out of the house would be an issue - once she would see Clip and Clop she'd bust out of there for sure.
My neighbor who comes over and lets her out for potty breaks on occasion has been known to take her for car rides with their Shih Tzu Zoey and he is amazed at how well she travels. She likes to spend time over there but when she starts edging for home he knows she wants to be home with her kitties and wait for her momma ;) Funny - I WISH she would stay as close to me at HOME as she does at the park - I often have to get off the lawn mower and go SEARCHING for her b/c she's wandered over to the neighbors. :mad: :rolleyes:

there is no way I could be there even if I traded shifts and had to work that night again @ 11... :(
and people already have plans - so no one would trade with me either -
so iffin its on Saturday - looks like the BRD and I'll have to sit it out!
Its just the LUCK of the DRAW that my weekend is that weekend. Every 5th weekend - you just never know when it will fall!!

We usually do something with Ralph's family that weekend. I would guess now, that maybe it would be on the 4th, making the 5th better for us. I'll see if I can find out more. Most other weekends in July are out...we are on vacation quiet a bit that month!

When I wrote that smart-butt reply to Joyce ... it appeared SHE was the only one
interested in a 4th of July trip to Findlay.
I'm NOT sure if she is still considering the trip; and don't know what day she might visit.

We (Pet Talk) do NOT have a Pavilion reserved for ANY day over the 4, 5, 6 of July weekend.

Phred, Cinder & Smokey do NOT plan to be there over the 4th Weekend ...
we may be Dawg Sittin for Heidi (min-Pin) and Angus (the BIG White Shepherd).

Phred is right - no one has registered for that Pavilion and I don't know if anyone else period has. If they have not, we can use it if we are the first ones there (first come, first serve). Since I did not know when you plan to arrive or how long you were going to stay, I have not planned on fixing anything. If you want to do lunch, it would probably easier if we just went and got something and brought it back (at our first Dog Park Meeting - Amy, Staci, Anna and I went and got pizza). I haven't talked to Amy yet to see if she is thinking of coming down or not. Let me know what you and Jenn are thinking!

I called the Park Office to see if the shelter had been rented for Saturday and it has for a birthday party. However, she doesn't know when they plan on using it - noon or evening or all day. Just FYI

That's okay! I was just curious. :) I don't mind grabbing fast food on the way down. Sounds like that'll be easier just in case the birthday party has the pavilion all day. Eating pizza in the parking lot or in the dog park :eek: :p would be too much of a hassle.

We're planning to get there between Noon and 1 p.m. :) It'll just be Jenn and I. Ashley can't make it.
