Okay, I am taking her to the vet tomorrow but maybe somebody knows whats going on so I can sleep tonight!
My dog is not quite sneezing but rather blowing air out of her nose, it is so confusing. Every once in a while she will actually sneeze. Does she have allergies? Shes not biting her paws or scratching like a reaction to anything. It started about 4 days ago, its not getting worse because she is acting just fine Well a little sleepy since she wakes up in the night a lot I would just say she is becoming more persistent with it. No runny nose either, and as she is growing up a little her eyes barely water now so ... no watery eyes either.
I just though that itching, runny nose, eyes, something might tell me its allergies... tree pollen is up but she grew up on a barn and is out twice a week and its just now happening...
Motherly instincts... keeping...me...from...sleeep!!!
Hopefully somebody has an idea. Like i said, there is no hesitation for the vet. If these are common allergy signs and I'm just being a worry wart (eeek!) let me know though so I can try some things before she goes in

Thanks!

Could it be backward sneezing?

I did some looking and everybody says it is different things that cause reverse sneezing. I think this may be it. Although, she doesn't do it for any particular reason. Even when shes just sitting there she does it. So for safety reasons I am going to take her in but everything I have read, the way it sounds and repetitiveness, this might be it.
Thank you, maybe I will sleep!!

I'm just seeing this thread. And I'm wondering how it went at the vet yesterday. :)
Zoee sneezes when she gets excited (usually when I get home) and sometimes when she is laying on her back.

So he says that it is probably backward sneezing. Of course she is terrified and wont do anything but cry until i pick her up when we are there. Embarrassing/so cute but anyways; I told him my concerns and she isn't 'snorting in' like the backward sneeze would be. He was insistent, and said ok well nothing you can be besides rub her down tell her to calm down and give her some benadryl since he suspects its caused be allergies. AS we walk out to pay for this silly trip she starts to do it when i walked away (my boyfriend was hanging on too her). She was nervous and thought i was leaving her i guess and started to breath harder so it triggered something...he hears her hacking away or whatever she is doing and says "Um can you hold on a second..." Long story short i told him i was right (yay for mommy's knowing something is wrong)in a comical way and he says she has a upper respiratory infection and the mucus is making her push the air out of her nose, hence why she isn't sneezing since its nothing irritating her nasal passage. She is just a weirdo and doesn't cough and thats why everybody was confused. :p

Thank you everybody! Remember your the only one that knows when something is really wrong! haha!!

Well thank goodness she did it at the vets and he was able to hear it. I wonder why he couldn't have heard it in her lungs. But I'm not a vet, so what do I know. :p
So I'm assuming she is on meds now and she will be all better soon. :D

I thought the same thing about him hearing it in her lungs.
No matter, it sounds like she's on her way to feeling better!

Mommies know best! :D

I really don't think he was listening.
My vet seems to be pretty rude sometimes, I went in saying what was wrong and when he said what he thought it was I said no. Made him upset so he just put it up to her chest. : / aah well i was right, i think just mad because I doubting the vet. they know everything. haha

Well I am certainly glad you were able to prove him wrong!!!!! I hate it when vets or dr dont listen to there patients "parents".... I trust totally in my instincts when it comes to my animals, my husband thinks im silly sometimes but he and our vet have learned to listen when I say something is not right!!! Great job mom!!!!!
