Canine Factor VIII???

Does anyone have any information or experience dealing with this blood disorder? A Border Collie with a broken leg in our rescue has been diagnosed with it.

Hemophilia, right? If you (/the rescuers) are open to it, I would highly suggest looking into the Chinese herbal Yunnan PaiYao. I personally do not have experience with using it on a hemophiliac dog, but I've seen it stop bleeding on a greyhound's broken toe when nothing else seemed to....we thought the dog may have had a bleeding disorder (genetic and/or tick-borne).

It is pretty well-known (as far as Chinese herbals go)....and even has a history of use by U.S. soldiers in the Vietnam War!
