Dont Want Food!!

I have 8 cats, but 1 of my 8 cats do not like to eat wet food, I tried every kind I can possibly find, so all she eats is DRY FOOD. I also find that my other 7 cats that eat both kinds of food dry & wet are stronger and fatter, and the one that doesnt eat wet food looks skinny. IS THIS A PROBLEM? IS IT BAD THAT SHE DOESNT WANT WET FOOD? WHAT CAN I DO?

I don't think that it's a problem unless she doesn't drink enough water. If this is the case then she can become dehydrated or even develop a urinary tract infection. I would try to mix a little bit of wet food in with the dry food that she likes and also add a little bit of water to it. Hopefully in time she'll get used to eating some wet food and she'll learn to like it. All of my cats like wet food but some of them can't eat too much of it or they'll throw up because they eat it too fast. Good luck.:)

As long as she has access to plenty of drinking water I can't see it being a problem

All 7 of my cats ate only dry nearly all their lives because my previous vet told me that was the way to go. Only recently have I started to feed them wet food on occasion. As others have mentioned, as long as they drink plenty of water, it shouldn't be a problem.

I agree with Medusa. Our main vet ( I do trust his group, over 29 years) has told us that dry is the best especially for the males. BUT we have been told by others vets that they should have wet. With 12 in the house my wife splits 3 cans mixed with dry in 6 plates. They do take turns eating and at lest 2-3 plates are not finished (saved for later, Chessie likes too let the wet dry a bit)). We free feed using 4 large dog bowls. We also make sure that there is plenty of water, again 4 large dog bowls and 2 fountains. We have another fountain on the way. This has been the same for the last 23+ years. Wet mix free dry and lots of water. We have had no health issues. This includes a diabetic for almost 16 years

Smudge ate dry all his life, and when I had to start giving him medicine, since he's the classic Unpillable Cat, I had to tempt him to eat canned by mixing in Kitty Kaviar (dried bonito flakes). But now he gets his "paté" twice a day with his medicine and vitamins, plus tooth-cleaner treats to keep the canned from messing up his mouth.

I would recommend that if it is a boy cat and he doesn't love to drink lots of water, that you ask your vet about giving him urinary tract formula (dry) to prevent crystals/urinary blockage. I don't believe girl cats are as likely to suffer from that. Other than the issue of blockage, I don't see any reason why cats can't only eat dry food and in fact, I asked my vet this very question last week for Moon (can we eliminate his wet food because he's so overweight. He drinks lots of water. The answer was Yes).

WELL AT THE HOTEL SCRAPPY 2, MIQUELITO ,POUCIERGE AND JOHN HANCOCK ARE DRY FOOD EATERS.
MICHAEL, JOSEPH, MY PRINCESS , BO BO ARE CANNED FOOD MOSTLY AND TUBSTER PANTHER EATS WHATEVERS THERE.
I DONT THINK IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND I THINK THAT MOST VETS RECOMMEND DRY.
I THINK THAT ITS THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD THAT COUNTS.
