I had DaVinci to the vet again today. He lost ANOTHER 2 pounds (he had already dropped 2 pounds) :(

The problem "might" be his teeth, but we had blood drawn to make sure it isn't something else more serious.

He is difficult to medicate because after a few pills he'll start to run and hide at pill time.

I suspect he'll be going for a dental soon. I'll let you know when I know more.

I hope it is nothing more than his teeth.

I guess pill pockets don't fool him either?;)

DaVinci, I hope you feel better and more fatter soon!

Give him a hug for me, Jen.

Jen, I'm sorry to hear that DaVinci has been losing weight. I hope he checks out well at the vet's.
How old is he now and how long have you been fostering him?
I still love his cute black nosie, give him a kiss from me please.:)

WE PRAY ITS TEETH TOO JEN AS BO BO THE SIAMESE WAS LOSING WEIGHT TOO, AND HER DENTAL MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
I HOPE THOUGH THAT Da VINCI JUST NEEDS A CLEANING AND NOT TO HAVE EVERY TOOTH PULLED OUT LIKE BO BO , JOHN HANCOCK AND MOOSE ANGEL.

OK, his blood work was PERFECT (as I quote the vet). So he goes for his dental next tuesday. We want the infection/inflammation to go down a bit before surgery. So far I got his pills in him, but the rest of the week???? We shall see.

Jen, I find it easiest to catch the tough ones at meal times; they ALWAYS run to the dish, so I just shut the door and have them cornered in one room. Makes is a bit easier. Plus, after the pill they get to eat so it is a built in reward.

Hang in there DaVinci, mum and the white coats have a plan to help you feel better!

Praying for you and Da Vinci, Jen. The dental has helped so many other kitties start pigging out again, I am hopeful that it will help Da Vinci too! :)

Hugs to that sweetie.

DaVinci is home and upset. He is a sensitive boy  and now all he wants to do is find a place to hide. But he ate a little, which is OK, and can room by himself tonight to recoup.

He had 7 teeth pulled! WOW! But we hope that he'll be eating full speed ahead, very soon.

Good to hear he is home - 7 teeth! Poor baby!

Did they give him a pain patch so you don't have to pill him, Jen?

Looking forward to Da Vinci's healing, and him eating more food!

Jen - if he had the sniffles - would that be a Da Vinci Cold?

(ducks to avoid things thrown at her) :p

HUGS!

Poor DaVinci! His mouth must be so sore and tender. I hope that each hour gets a little bit better for him and that he starts to make his way out of hiding and into your arms. Or at least to the dinner plate! :)

Jen, I'm sorry to hear that he had to have 7 teeth pulled.:( Hopefully he'll recover quickly and start feeling much better so he'll be able to eat well again and gain some weight back.:)

Boy, 7 teeth pulled is a lot but Puddy had 6 pulled and she was in renal failure, so if my 5 lbs. of pure terror Puddy Tat can come through unscathed, we're praying that DaVinci will, too. :)

DaVinci is still quite upset.

I know he'll be fine, I guess I was just surprized at 7 teeth because he is so young. How can they be so bad already? hopefully it is not the stomatitis!

Bosun had a whole bunch of teeth pulled; once her gums healed she ate much better, started gaining weight, her coat was better, and she has gotten so playful. Hopefully DaVinci will do the same.

He is back to trusting me and his sweet self. ;) I can't monitor ALL of his eating habits, as they have food out all the time in the foster's rooms, but my guess is that he'll start putting some of the weight back on soon.

That is great to hear that DiVinci is feeling better and back to his sweet self. I am sure missing 7 teeth was upsetting, but it will make her feel so much better in the long run! Just give lots of hugs, and she will forget it in no time!:D
