Does anybody have a diabetic dog?

My dog has been drinking a lot of water and peeing in the house lately which he never does. He is overweight, for which I have had him on a diet for over a year. He has lost 3 lbs in that time. He just started drinking a lot more water. I don't think he has any other symtoms of diabetes. Does anyone have any other ideas of what might be wrong with him?:confused:

Phone the vet first thing in the morning for an appt for a blood work up. They may want to do a urinalysis as well.

There really isn't any point in "guessing," as you will only worry. The best thing is to act, and find the cause.

If it IS diabetes, there are several people on here working with that, and I am sure they can provide guidance and support. But first things first.
