View Full Version : Let's play in the covers...again!

08-26-2002, 07:43 PM
Hi, this is Graemer. We caught Mom trying to put clean sheets on her bed the other day. It took her twice as long 'cause we were playing while she was trying to do her chores.

I think I see something under that sheet!

Let me do the "taste test" first.

I wonder what it could be.......

I'm going in for a closer look....

Oh, it's only Miley girl.....my sister!

Wow, this is cool. Now I know why you like it under here. No one can see us! We're just too cool!

These pictures are just too funny! I think everyone who has a kitty has experienced the "bed lump" at one time or another, but these captions do tell the story as only a cat can tell it (or a devoted cat mommy transcribing for said cat). Thank you for a great laugh tonight!

How fortunate you are to have two such helpful kitties. Do they also help you drink the water that is in the glass beside your bed.;)

08-27-2002, 02:46 PM
My two have always taken over any glass I have sitting around. So, yes they drink from that glass. I do not. I leave it there so they don't have far to travel to get a sip of water in the middle of the night.

I have not yet seen Gabe go to this glass at night but he certainly hits any beer bottles on a table etc.

What spoiled kittens I have.... don't we all have them?

I have to say, i saw you commenting on Graemer and Miley taking sips from your water (cup)...and Gabe hasnt yet...well...................that leads me to my short story...

...I always bring a glass of water with me to bed and put it on my table (next to me)...and Gabe would ALWAYS tip it over in the night (usually landing it on the floor)...if I didnt catch him first....one morning (this is when i was pregnant)...i woke up and thought my water had broke (LOL)...b/c Gabe had tipped the glass over...all over the bed!!! LOL!!! It was scary and funny all at the same time...sorry, i know, too much information, but i had to share!!

One more question, when you are changing the sheets on your bed, does Gabe run around like a crazy man...and jump on the corners of the bed while you are trying to fold under the covers?? I used to have to lock him out of the room, when i was changing my sheets, b/c he got out of control and would try to bite my hands, as i was making my nice, neat hospital corners!!:D I should know the answer to this question already...probably not, b/c the Vermont air has changed the little guy's personality a bit, ;)

;) :D :)

Anyway, have a nice night :)

I was trying to make the bed this morning. Tubby was curious when I lifted the comforter up, and he crawled under, between the comforter and the sheet. He was looking out at me with a twinkle in his eye like he was looking for trouble, and wouldn't come out so I could finish. I played with him a bit, but he still wouldn't come out. Needless to say I was now running late for work and had to finish, so he went "undercover." ;) :D

He stayed there too, until Peanut jumped up on the bed in search of her mousie (red, laying on comforter). Tubby must have been flipping his tail undercover and she pounced on it! Then he must have moved because she pounced on him! He then exited the covers and playtime was over. :( Peanut looked over the edge of the bed as if to say "where you going?" But Tubby just shook his head to get his fur back in place and left the room. And I thought he was the one looking for trouble.

Anyway, they really don't play much anymore so it was fun to see them with that "look" in their eyes. :D

PS - I know the comforter doesn't match the curtains. We changed the comforter and haven't gotten to the curtains yet. Someday.....

SAS, those pictures are very reminescent of my brood, whenever I get into some project around here. Even if it is somthing that they cannot participate in, they still get busy on the ladder or what ever I am using.:D

Freckles favorite thing is sleeping between the comforter and blanket. In fact she's there right now. http://home.sprintmail.com/~jwalborn/_uimages/freckleshiding.JPG

Great pics everyone. :) I'm glad I decided to check this section of Pet Talk out. :D I sometimes have to close my bedroom door while I'm making the bed because my cats like to jump up on the bed and play with the sheets. Pepper seems to be the one who enjoys this the most. :) I don't have any pics though.

Cute pix:D
Edwina too:D
That reminded me a story with Vasea. We have an extensible coach. Once we were getting ready to sleep and already with the sheet on the bed, Vasea jumped like a sqirrel on it and like he had something important to do, he started pushing with his right front paw, very quickly, the sheet between two folds of the coach. Only when he did it from one side to the other and it looked very neat, he stopped. We couldn't stop loughing :D

LOL LOL Tubby and Peanut had a bit of that 'childhood' mischief. Kitties are so silly when they stay 'undercover'. I love it!! Scooter will burrow under our covers at night before I get into bed to read. It's usually Scooter's 'cuddle time', so he knows when we start brushing our teeth that it's bed time. He has been jumping up on the bed and burrowing under the covers and waits for us there. I usually read a bit out loud from some article in Cat Fancy or a fun book like Harry Potter before Scooter has to go to his cage for the night. Then I switch to whatever book I'm reading. LOL

Nutmeg is a darling :)

Laughs - Yes! I have that problem too! it takes me 30 minutes to make the bed because Bastet comes pounding up the hallway at a million miles an hour to run underneath the covers whily they are being flicked, then she sits underneath them and plays with my hand!

The other wonderful thing she does is dump her *catches* on the bed - luckily though because I hate seeing dimembers geckos. She also dumps her mousies on the bed at 4am in the morning and pats my face until I wake up to play with her!

Gotta love our fur kids!

:D :D :D

Filou is just the same: materializing with light speed when you do the beds, going under the sheets -but you must be careful to play with him because this is one of the rare moments that he's playing rough:eek:
And of course when he thinks it's breakfast time (can be 2, 3 or 4 A.M.) he comes purring, pats your face, gives headbumpies -the full program until you surrender.

Edwina gets under the sheet and rolls on her back. She holds up the sheet from underneath with all four legs. Then you go for her tummy and the fun is on! It is her "roughest play." When I peek under the sheet her eyes are all dilated and intent. She also likes MY hand under the sheet so she can chase it. And she digs on the sheet. What's that all about?

11-15-2002, 11:11 AM
Nutmeg is adorable. :D When I'm putting fresh sheets on the bed my cats think that it's time to play. They run under the sheets and I usually have to shut my door or it will take me an hour to make the bed. :)

Just not sure which cat is the monster!
Hey Mom, that lump is back in our bed!

I think I should study this lump a bit longer...before I....

Go in for the kill!

11-16-2002, 08:28 AM
That looks like Miley girl going for the kill and the lump is not big enough to be Gabe so.....the monster undercover must be Graemer....;)

11-16-2002, 08:35 AM
Oh Sallyanne what a beautiful quilt. I am sure your three appreciate it:) ;)

11-16-2002, 11:19 AM
And that was Graemer doing the stalking.

The quilt I picked up at an antique auction. It is all HAND made...every scallop is hand stitched! It is amazing to look at and see the details. The cats could care less!

Graemer has a much darker face than Miley. I have pictures of their furr mother and father, and their father's father too. Just don't know where there are on my C drive!

Graemer and Miley look more like their Grandfather. Their father is very fawn colored and their mom is red, but the Grandfather is Ruddy!

indra loooves to play in the bedsheets/covers.....he thinks it is such fun to "attack" the covers! its about the only game he really does like. nevvie is the "observer" and really does not like to be bothered, baby washy's favorite "game" is to run after the two older cats....much to their dismay:eek:
