Obviously you people have never owned a Boxer. They are the greatest! They're smart, loyal, friendly, great guard dogs, lovers, and they want to be near you all the time. I've had all kinds of dogs, and Boxers are the BEST!!

We have a Boxer/Pit mix and we love her to death. I like Boxers too, but honestly, I've learned that every breed has its strong points and weak points. Personally, my favorites are mutts!!

Where are you in Indiana?? Are we neighbors??

Nope - I'm in Columbus. Sorry - I'm definitely sold on Boxers. My daughter has a shih tzu, and the two of them play all the time. It's a riot!

i likemutts the best too. my neighbor owned a boxer. what a sweet dog. was always very gentle and calm around the children and never barked or got excited. my dad loves boxers.:D

The only boxer I've really met was a girlie named Fergie. We stayed at her owners house in Denver when we went to see a U2 concert. We got to their house when they weren't home and she was just as friendly as can be! A BIG girl, with a BIG heart! Her favorite thing was to attack those latex gloves blown up like balloons lol.

That is an adorable pic YellowLabLover! I have to say that I'm personally a big fan of all Labs, Great Danes, Dalmations, and Siberian Huskies. They're all so cute to me. I guess I really don't have a favorite breed, but those are some that top the list!

My favorite breed is 1st, a Golden, 2nd a Golden, 3rd, a Golden, 4th a Golden.... Whhheeww!! and lastly.... a GOLDEN !!!!!!!:) :)

This is a very tough question, we had a Boxer many years ago called Duke and he was magnificent, inbetween we have had Doxies, a Bassett, a Rottweiler and Mini Schnauzers. We have Schnauzers right now, so I guess that would be my favorite breed. They are very funny, love to play, independent to a fault, and excellent watch dogs, but most of all I love them so very much.

As you know I love Labs, but I also love Great Danes. My favorite colors are Blue Merle and Mantle.

If I have a big enough yard and house and a lot of money (in the future) I would love to own a dane.

I'd have to say that I totally agree! But I also have a thing for Labs. A few other's grab my attention really quickly too, but I won't go on and on listing them! But GREAT DANE's now top the list!

but I also love Great Danes. My favorite colors are Blue Merle and Mantle.

Not to offend you, but the Harlequins are the best in my opinion!

I don't think I have a favorite breed as I really am only familar with APBTs.
But I do think Rhodesian Ridgebacks are gorgeous and should the day come to get Smokey a play mate, I'll look into one of these.
Of course, mutts are always fun, too. :)

Jake was an English Pointer and he was BEAUTIFUL
and now there is Tucker the yellow moose he is a lab mix
So I guess you could say I love..

Hmmm....are there any other toy dog fans out there??? I love all dogs in all shapes and sizes, but my little six-pounder Maltese works best for me. He doesn't aggrevate my allergies, fits great in our small apartment, and he's the perfect size for picking up & giving BIG-DOG-size hugs to!! :)

Angelpuppy I had the same thought as you.

I love all dogs big and small but I also have a little Yorkshire Terrier who weighs 5-1/2 lbs. She's the light of my life. We should get them together for a play date.

By the way my favorite breed is Yorkshire Terriers! lol

I myself have a WONDERFUL, smart, and HANDSOM, Pit Bull German Shepherd mix.
I'm also Puppy-Sitting a Lab Pit Bull mix which are just great.

For me its yellow labs, Misfit is my 2nd, my first I had for 13 years or so... yellow labs have become my favorite because they are as lazy as i am, they like good food, and she sleeps more then I do, and when they want to play its really because they want to play and there not just high strung. I try to get her active and playing, but unless she wants to she wont, she just demands I open the front door for her to look out, and a walk every damn day. shes worth it.

Mutts are my favorite, but I'm going to assume that the question was directed at purebreds. ^_^

Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Bedlington Terriers, and APBT's are all among my favorite dogs, but my absolute favorite right now is (oddly enough) the long coated Chihuahua!

This is my boyfriend's impossibly sweet baby, Stella. She acts so differently than any of the short coated Chis I have ever met, it's incredible!

Isn't it so neat that we all have our favorite breeds of pooches and yet I bet that we all probably love these different breeds for the very same reasons...

For instance...I am a Doberman Pinscher lover. The Doberman is a velcro dog meaning they stick to you like glue. They ALWAYS want attention and love. They are lap dogs and at least in my house they sleep in bed with my wife and I.

They require love and they give love...in heaps!

Now, doesn't that sound like the same reasons that you love your particular breed?

One thing that makes the Doberman unique is that his/her mere appearance is a discourager toward the local thief. Of course there are other breeds that have this such as GSD's and Rotts.

Of course, I could be wrong about all of this but what do you think?

At any rate...I believe that we are a blessed creation that can truly see the very personality of our Creator within his furry creation!

My first choice is always the breed of dog I have at the moment which is long-haired chihuahuas. I fell in love with the puppy (Ricky) not the breed.
Our friends have a wonderful yellow lab named Seagram that is so sweet and gentle and lets the chi's cuddle up to him. He is getting old now and his hips don't always let him do the things he used to be able to do but he still likes to sit in the pool or lie on a rug next to a fire.
Remember, all dogs start off sweet and wonderful, how they end up depends on their owners.
