Hi, I took both Starr and Sky for another recheck to my holistic vet and they've both improved. Starr has shown the most improvement and he's now down to 12lbs.:) He was 12.5lbs on March 9th at his annual exam. He's been taking the pred every 3 days for quite a while now so his body is starting to get back into shape.:) I've also started giving him derm caps liquid at night mixed in with his food and this is a fish oil supplement. I get this from my regular vet and I noticed a huge improvement in Starr after the very first dose. He has so much more energy and he's so much happier now too.:)
The only problem is that sometimes the other cats don't want to play with him so he can become a bit aggressive with them. Playing and running a lot more have also helped him to lose some weight. He had an injectable acupunture treatment today and he doesn't need to go back until Sept.14th. I also get to start giving him his pred once a week starting on June 16th.:) The doctor said that he should be able to be off of the pred very soon which I'm thrilled to hear.:)
Sky's skin on his back is starting to loosen up more and he had a regular acupunture treatment. We had to put him back in his carrier because he kept on wanting to walk around while the needles were still in his back. Silly boy.:) He's still on his herbal teapills 2 times a day and now I also have to try rubbing his back area back and forth with one of those love gloves. This will help loosen up his skin in this area. Hopefully he'll enjoy it and he won't try to bite me. He goes back for a recheck on June 22nd. His breathing is much better than before but he'll still make some noises every now and then.
Storm will go back for a recheck either with Sky or with Starr. I'll just have to see how he's doing after his dental cleaning. I hope that the cleaning will make him feel much better so he won't be so grumpy any more. I'ved also decided to take Pearl and Sunny to see my holistic vet to discuss their issues. She works a half day on Memorial day so this is when they'll be going. Hopefully my furkids will all soon be happy and very healthy. I don't want to go through another horrible summer like I did last year.:)
