I don't have the energy right now to go into all the details. But since Sunday Jack has basically been confined to my bathroom and has had more enemas than I care to count. (Jack is my megacolon kitty).

I'm working on a referal to an internal medicine specialist for at least a consultation, however I fear that surgery may not be an option either because of the damage done already or price. I'll know more once I get a consult visit. Only good thing is they do give a discretionatory (sp?) professional discount for people that work at vet hospitals if my boss notes that on the referal form.

Today Jack's vet did the xrays and early next week will do the lab work needed for the referal (since it's cheaper for it to be done here). Based on what I saw comparing last year's xrays to today's it's not looking good for Jack.

I could use all the prayers you can give for Jack and if you have a few to spare for my sanity with this and alot of other stress I've been dealing with, I would greatly appreciate it.

Here's a pix I took of him Saturday before all the enema stuff.

Poor Jack,

Our hearts go out to you and your problems.

Prayers for you and Jack.

What a pretty boy! I don't know much about the illness...but taking something by mouth every day - metamucil or something - wouldn't help?

HUGS and prayers.

Jack has already been on Pumpkin and Lactulose for a year. I put it on his food. Plus he gets his hairball stuff once a week. It doesn't stop the constipation.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. We both have needed them.

Jack got a butt bath last night, (although he's still a bit oily on the fur), and spent the night in the spare bedroom alone, although that is preferable to the bathroom. This morning I let him back out and he's been tired and sleeping alot more than normal. Also he won't follow me in the bathroom anymore and runs to hide when I gather my stuff to go anywhere because he thinks he's going to the vets again. Who could blame the poor guy?

Monday he goes in for the blood draw for the lab work and the referal paperwork to be finished. I'll call on Monday afternoon to get the appointment with the specialist. Hopefully they can get us in for a consultation on May 17. I hate to put it off so long but we already had vacation time taken and a trip booked prior to all this stuff happening and that's the soonest I can get him there.

I'm so worried my pet sitter is going to not want to take care of my kitties anymore. First Dusty with her health problems, now Jack. Plus I have one kitty (I think Cami) that is peeing outside the box. *sigh*

Please keep us in your prayers that the lab work comes back good and nothing bad happens prior to the consultation.
