Patch

[Christmas_Hamster]

Patch went down hill. She hadn't been feeling well but she was regaining her strength, drinking, eating grooming, playing or in other words making a good recovery. But last nght I found her cold and having a hard time breathing. It was 11:00 at night and no vet was open and she wouldn't have made the trip anyways. She layed in my Dad's hands and her breathing was still bad but she was getting warmer. About an hour later we were pretty sure she had left but we weren't sure so we just put her back in her cage for the night wrapped in a towl with extra tissue for warmth. This morning I just knew she had passed away even though I dreamed of her running up to greet me all night. And when I checked on her she was gone.

Patch was a sweet little girl we only had her for about 6 months. She had always stayed on the small side but when she was in her run-around-ball she sure could knock the other hamsters around. She was always a sweet little girl and she never minded being held or petted. She loved my Dad though. He was her owner or I guess slave, hehe. She loved to see him and be held by him. She loved yogurt drops and in her last few days she bagan to love celentro a lot. Her favourite past time was her run around ball. If I let her she would run day and night.

Patch you were a sweet girl that didn't deserve to die so young and so soon but now you are up playing with other hams and able to play and eat as much as you want free of pain and suffering. I love you my little girl.
