This story is dedicated to the memory of my pet sheep Lamby Pie. Lamby Pie very recently passed away. He was my pet and friend for 10 years. He was featured as Pet of the Day seven years ago on April 11, 2001 http://petoftheday.com/archive/2001/April/11.html. He came to me as a surprise gift from my husband and ended up as a valued member of my family for the last 10 years. When I first got him, he was only a week old and I bottle fed him until he was old enough to eat grain on his own. Ever since then, I cared for him through good and bad times. Last winter he was sick with pneumonia and I almost lost him. I nursed him back to health and was convinced he would make it to another winter. With some tender loving care, he made it through this winter and into spring. He passed away on March 24, 2008, just a few days after the start of spring. It saddens me to not see him in my backyard anymore, but I know he will always be there in spirit. I miss him dearly and believe that the last two years with him were a gift. He lived years beyond what most people thought he would. He will never be forgotten and Lamby Pie will always have a special place in my heart.

Awe... what a sweet and gorgeous boy he was! Sheep will always have a special place in my heart, especially little lambs that need to be loved and cared for (I had a pet lamb, named LeRoy).

Take care, Lamby Pie, and have fun at the bridge!! Look out for my boy, LeRoy up there, as he passed away many years ago, as well as many of our beloved stock, since we do not raise sheep any longer.

I hope you will consider taking another lamb in under your wing and giving him love and nurturing like you did Lamby Pie. Big hugs to you!
