View Full Version : Filou has to stay at the vet's -update #20

This morning when Siegmar took Filou in for his sub-qs he got over the procedure just as usual. But then Filou vomited - which is not good in itself- and there was a little blood in it :(
The vet decided immediately she will keep him and check him out. By noon she said there is no tumor to be found- so there is the opition that in one of his fighting matches (he always has them when he has to see the vet) he just got a little bit hurt.
Trude (the vet) will take him home tonight and have him under control until tomorrow.
I don't know what to say- I miss my little boy and am worried sick.

WOW!
Talk about CUSTOM Vet Service! ... A Patient take-home feature ... NEET-O!

Hope Filou enjoys the "night out" - and returns in A-1 shape.
We'll send a Purrayer upstairs to help.

Oh, poor Filou, he will miss his mom and dad too, but at least he's in the best hands, although in a strange place. What a service! :)

Will the vet take further tests?

I do hope nothing serious is wrong with Filou, perhaps it was just nervous. Fister peed on John once when he was taken to the vet, he was so scared.

Get better, sweet Filou! Fister and I are keeping our paws and fingers crossed.

Our vet is in love with Filou as well- she sees him every week and couldn't resist him.
She called this morning and said he seems ok. She thinks that it was something like a tiny vein in the lung that could have broken. For this he needed to stay quiet a little- not hurrying up to the ceiling on the cat tree.
Siegmar just went to pick him up.
I can't wait to have him here.

Barbara

He's back- and he was very hungry as he didn't eat the food provided (except some ham  ).
It was a bleeding of the lung- but there was no tumor. It will have happened when he was too monkeyish- you should have seen him at Easter, jumping like a rubber ball and not like the elderly gentleman he is. The vet could see blood in his lung which will have to be absorbed- and in the mean time he cannot jump too much. We may take the cat tree down for this time.
Such a frail little bundle of energy!
The vet told him not to shock her anymore like this and I only hope he listens this time.

THANKS, God - and Doc Trude, too!

Tell Monkey Boy to keep his Pawz onna Floor and he'll get to stay Home where
he likes the food!

So happy to hear that Filou is home where he belongs. No doubt your vet loves him, monkey that he is :D Who wouldn't love such a sweet little boy :) Although a challenge, I'm sure, I hope Filou takes it easy for the next few days and regains his strength ;)

Tigris must have been so happy to see his little buddy again - hugs to both and to you and Seigmar - it's been a tough week :)

Abys just never walk or take their time with anything They don't walk through my house, but run or prowl..... they are in continue stalk mode, always waiting for something to jump out at them.....AND they are continually looking for a high place to roost. Sometimes they come crashing down from above....Ahemmmmm.....Filou, be a good Aby, and stay still for a few days. Right..............

Glad to hear your boy is home..... :D

Oh Filou, I was waiting for a good update! It's great news! You monkey boy, you scared everyone!
I guess there is not much you can do to prevent him from jumping or running, he is a cat, plus an aby

I'm so glad to hear that Filou is now home and hopefully you'll be able to keep him quiet for a while so he has a chance to heal.:) Even though my Sunny is only an Aby mix he's also still very much a big kitten and he'll be turning 8 in August.;)

I'm so glad the vet found out what is was, and that little Filou is back home. :) Now, you have to make an effort to keep him "in line" - no jumping for a while! I can imagine how difficult that will be.

Kisses to Filou, and also to Tigris. I bet they're happy to see each other again. :)

Hi Barb, Siegmar, and boys....

Just making sure you are behaving yourself, Filou. Hope your health is fine and you are being quiet.

Barb and Siegmar, I trust you have dragged out all the comfy beds and dismantled the cat tree. Maybe a warm spot on your heater will do the trick? I am sure you have your battle planned, to try to keep that little monkey, quiet.

Get well wishes coming your way from Vermont. The Aby girls here in Vermont will try to send some quiet thoughts and vibes to you, Filou. We don't have that many quiet thoughts and vibes to begin with....so they will be few in number. We're going for quality not quanity! Lucy is queen of quiet....so many she will be first to send the quiet vibes!

Tigris......be kind to little Filou, please.

Filou is comparatively quiet. But he is eating nicely. Tigris tries to bully him but I could keep him away from Filou several times.
The cat tree is down- we'll wait for next week's vet visit before we put it up again.
Filou spent quite some time on top of the different heaters- so he has been a good boy.
Thanks so much for your thoughts. I am sure they help :)

pay another visit to the Vet any time soon. :)

Filou has been rambunctious, eh? I'll bet he figured out that if he keeps that up, he'll end up going back to the vet's. :p
