Even though we knew it was coming, it doesn't make starting this thread any easier. Snoopy was helped to the bridge this evening and is now free from the seizures. He can eat what he wants, and run and play. He will feel no more confusion and be the happy young pup we all loved so much.

My mom wanted to thank everyone for your continued prayers, and support, both finicial and just in your words and caring. It has meant so much over the past few months as Snoopy's health problems continued to mount. I'm sure she will thank everyone herself when she is feeling up to it.

Snoppy got to go out to Scooter's Dog Park this afternoon and play a bit before he crossed the bridge.

Rest easy Snoopes. We were such a beautiful loving boy, it isn't fair your time here was so short.

Do you ever NOT want to open a thread? When I saw this thread, my eyes filled and tears continue to run down my face. This beautiful boy is gone. My sympathies go to you and your family in this time of loss.

Rest easy Snoopy...play hard at the bridge. Tell my Peach that I love her and I'll see her some day. You can't miss her she's a beautiful Chessie with a winning smile.

I'm so sorry. I don't even know what to say. I'm crying now. I'm happy that he got to have one last play date at Scooter's.

Rest In Peace, Sweet Snoopy. I know you are happy now and free from all pain and illness. Have fun at the bridge sweet boy. I am going to miss you at the dog park.

This is so true. I hadn't browsed PT yet and Robin told me on AIM. My heart sank.

We knew it was coming but it's still so hard to see. I was hoping for a miracle that poor Snoops would jump back to himself for good.

I wanted to share one of my favorite pictures of Snoopy. I was afraid I may have lost it on Imagestation but I was able to find it on my harddrive. I think this is what Snoopy is doing now at the bridge...
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a194/frailwit/209.jpg

Smiling and back to his old self, seizure free. :) Rest well sweet Snoops. We'll see ya again some day.

As a relatively new member here, I haven't gotten to know Snoopy as well as so many others have. But in the few months I have been a member, I've followed along with the stories and ups and downs your family has gone through. I'm saddened by your loss and can only hope that time helps ease your pain. Keep remembering the good times you had together.

I am not ready to talk about Snoopy but I would like to share some of the pictures of his last day with us. It was suppose to rain most of yesterday and it did in the morning. It cleared off enough that I could take him to my friends house to run and make it almost the perfect day I wanted for him. My biggest regret is that I didn't take the whole day off to spend with him. But anyways Christy took some of Snoopy with her kids - she said he was pacing so much that it was very hard to get pictures of him

The little black dog is Scooter. The people in the blue house used to have 3 dogs. Their huge beige one got hit by a truck about a 1 and 1/2 ago. He used to race up and down the fence line with the dogs. All of them still go to that corner to look for him.

Bye, Snoops! Run like the wind now all your want!

I am so sorry, Diana. Snoopy was a beautiful dog, who was obviously loved, and gave back so much love in return. It has been very hard for me to even think about preparing this post. I want those of you who did not know Snoopy when he was a pup and well to get to know him from the beginning. He hasn't always had seizures - I think the first one was when he was about 2/1/2. Anyway....

In September of 2002, Amy (my daughter, Cincy's mom) called and told me that she had seen the cutest puppy at a rescue group when she was at a pet store where she lives in Toledo. He was a Dalmation mix. Since both Amy and I both love Dalmations, I had to get on Petfinder and see him. I called to see if he was still available and he was largely because he wasn't a little puppy any more but about 6 months old. To make a long story short, we went over to "see" him and the rest is history. I can still remember our ride home - Snoopy was a very hyper dog so I set in the back seat with him and he just laid at my side. Snoopy was our 4th dog and when I told my parents, I told my dad I had gotten Taggert a "toy" and showed him a picture of Snoops. He looked at me like I was nuts but it was the best thing I did for the both of them. They were buds from the get go. We finally found a way to wear Taggert out. But we had a new problem - who was going to wear Snoopy out???

When we first got Snoopy, I was not working so I took the dogs to one of the dog parks almost every day. Sometimes for a variety we took them to the Bowling green Dog Park because it had agility equipment and it didn't get as muddy as Findlays. Snoopy loved the agility equipment.

Snoopy wasn't just a dog - he was my best friend, my constant companion. He gave unconditional love. He was so strong - he hardly ever showed that something hurt. He trusted me to do anything - cut his toenails, give him pills - I could literally do anything to him and he trusted me not to hurt him or let him be hurt. When I cried, he was there licking my tears or just being by my side. He loved everyone and every dog (well, almost). He taught me so much about joy, about living and loving and enjoying every minute. When we first got him, he didn't walk, he leaped and bounced, his feet hardly ever hitting the ground.

It is so strange now, I come home and there is no Snoopy waiting for me. I see a dog in the shadows of the hallway and I think it is Snoopy looking for me - and it isn't. No one lays on top of me when I am reading, watching TV. (The others are nearby but Snoopy always had a part of himself on me.) The vets wrote me a note and many of you have said the same thing, Snoopy was lucky to have me as his parent/owner. But the truth is I was lucky to have Snoopy. I don't think I will ever have a dog that is so much mine and so much a part of me. I can still feel the softness of his furr, the look of love in his eyes. He was so good with Jasmine and Dominic. He loved little dogs and he was so gentle with them.

Snoopy - you were the best dog anyone could ever have. You will always be in my heart. I love you. You And Rob have a good birthday and Easter tomorrow.

a little more to the Story, of how Snoopy came to join our family...my brother in law, adopted a beagle mix from the same resuce where Snoopy was. It was when he was showing us pictures of his new dog, that I found Snoopy, and then saw that they would be here in Toledo. I went to see him, and he was so quiet, sitting in the front of his kennel not making a sound while all the other dogs were barking. Boy he fooled us!!!

So when my mom did go get him, and ever since she has always said he was supposed to be my dog. She got him for me. There is no way...Snoopy was her dog and it never could have been any other way!!
