What do you all use to clean your babies ears, how often, my little Bitsey has nasty ears and I have to be carefull with him, he can't have any type of steroid because of his liver issues. Thanks Joann

Best bet is to check with your vet. 'Nasty' ears could be a sign of infection and should be treated immediately otherwise it can lead to broken eardrums, and painful hematomas. Some cleaners work good for some things others don't and at the worst end some just make the problem worse.

Not knowing what is causing your dog's ear problems I can't recommend any particular product. Your vet is in a much better position to answer that one for you.

I agree, has he been to the vet about his ears before?
Do they smell?

We use the other dogs' tongues... lol. They all clean each others' ears. We do keep an eye on them though, and if they're dirty, we'll just get a Qtip and carefully clean.

I could be remembering incorrectly but I think I recall some ear wipes when I worked at PetCo that were used to clean the ears. Have you tried these?

Micki and Jack have nasty ears. We have to watch Micki because he is prone to ear infections but the vet has just advised us to clean them out regularly. Most often I use a kleenex and a little bit of listerine. But the kleenex on my little finger, dip it in the listerine and then scoop the gunk out of the ears. Works for us! We have used ear wipes from different stores too, as well as over the counter drops.
