Last night this beautiful 8 week old golden retriever pup found her forever home! She is very sweet and mild mannered. My two boys LOVE her and she is very gentle and respectful towards them. She is used to being outside with her litter mates so last night was a looooong night for her alone in a big scary house. My husband stayed out on the couch right next to her crate but she still cried for quite a while. Hopefully she will settle in relatively quickly. She seems very bright and is already learning to come when we call her. Enough with the chit chat, meet Ginger!

My husband had a golden when he was younger so he has always loved them. The moment we walked in and saw the litter we knew we were hooked :D

Missy she is so cute and look what a little angel she is all curled up with Austin in his walker and playing with Tyler. Too too sweet.

What does Boomer think of her?

Boomer couldn't care less :D My husband held Ginger while I brought Boomer out and he just sniffed at her with mild curiosity. He did hiss at her once but he did it with perky ears so I doubt it was serious. Ginger just glanced at Boomer and gave him a sniff before losing interest. The early signs point to them getting along just fine but we will of course keep them seperated unless we are able to each hold one of them.

Oh, she's a DOLL! What a beautiful little girl. Someone told me their friends refer to golden puppies as "golden smooches"! I'd like to reach right thru my monitor to pick her up & smooch her! ;)

she is beauitful

here is one suggestion when you put her in her crate at night cover it with something she might cry for a few but she will settle down fast I have done this with lil hooch and it works like a charm

We covered her crate last night but she didn't settle down until we lifted a corner of the sheet so that she could see us. She did pretty well last night considering it was only her second night in our home. Aside from getting up at 6:30am we feel pretty well rested :D

I have dog sitting duty for my neighbor across the street this weekend - and just came back from taking care of GINGER! (and Rusty and Casey and Bibbs).

Ginger is now a lovely "older" woman - so it is just wonderful to see a picture of what she might have looked like when she was a pup.

There just doesn't seem to be anything quite like a Golden. They are pure love.
Congratulations on your beautiful addition to the family. The boys are going to receive constant love and care and protection from her. What a great choice.

Oh Missy, Ginger will be a great companion and friend to those boys as they grow up. She will need some discipline and training, but she will be a wonderful friend to you, too. I cannot recommend a more gentle, loving breed than a Golden. At least not in my experience. We have had 4 now, 2 still with us, over the years, and they truly are gentle spirits.

She is just adorable and I love seeing her asleep on the walker!!!! :)
