For Barbiro????

So far my little chi's ears are flapped over - she looks like Odie in the Garfield Cartoons :D :D When do these this guy's ears go erect? Do some chi's have overlapped ears? Shouldn't they be erect if they're purebred??? Info Please!!!!

Purrley, I am not Barbiro, but I just did some quick research on chi's ears. here' what I found.

AKC Standards for Chi' ears:
Large, erect type ears, held more upright when alert, but flaring to the sides at a 45 degree angle when in repose, giving breadth between the ears.

Does Tess's ears look like this?

I do not know why Tess's ears are overlapped. I hope Barbiro can help you.

Purrley, I'm not an expert on chihuahuas, but Buffy and Tobi (not to mention my sister's 2 chihuahuas) have erect ears. Tess is still small. I don't remember at what age they ears went up, but I know when they were puppies they have droopy ears, all of them.

I can't wait to see Tess' picture! :D

Thats good news - I hope her ears go erect - I really love that look. Pictures will be coming after the New Year - I cannot get them into the system on my own - I need some help so it will take a while to get them coming - but they'll show up one day :D Oh by the way - yes, Tess's ears look like the picture - maybe a little higher.

Purrley, if Tess' ears look like that dog's picture, then they will definitely go up. Go look again at Buffy's puppy pictures, she's got floppy ears in quite a few, but now her ears are very erect!
