Hello all,

This is JustJack’s Dad. Thank you all so much for the warm comments. Jack is a great dog and I really love him. Most days anyway. ;)

A large part of my decision to get a dog was due to this site! I visit almost everyday! All the wonderful pet stories reminded me so much of when I was a kid and how much I loved having dogs that I was inspired and finally went out and got one. One thing I’ve learned is having a dog as an adult is very different then when I was a kid. But no less enjoyable.

The part about Jack “tricking” me at the pet store really is true. I never intended on getting a Jack Russell. Based on all the things I read, I was very hesitant about getting one. But at the pet store he was so sweet and cuddly and there was NO dog hair on my cloths! I thought to myself “Wow! A JRT that’s calm and affectionate and doesn’t shed! I got to get him!” Boy was I duped! He’s still pretty cute and very affectionate. But this dog sheds like crazy and is just a ball of energy! They must have clicked on his “GO” switch right before I left the store, because he hasn’t stopped since I brought him home. Every night at exactly 8:00PM he turns into what I call “RocketPuppy”. All you see is a brown and white blur zipping from room to room right up until bedtime!

Welcome mrielly, Dad to JustJack!:) It's so nice when we actually "hear" from one of our honorees' parents. And what an honor to hear that you brought Jack into your life after lurking on PT!:D And I'm not in the least bit surprised to hear Jack picked YOU! We sure do love animals here, and you and Jack fit right in. Hopefully you'll visit us every now and then and share with us the exploits of Jack! Give him extra hugs from me and mine tonight! Ha Ha!!!! Mike, I had to laugh at your post. I think that Jack must be one of the smartest I've heard about!! He sounds wonderful.....I hope you love him and that he will be a terrific companion for many years to come. I wish you well......I don't think I could do it!!!
