I was on my way to visit my mother (and get on PT) and I saw a cat in the road, I had to swerve to miss him. He had just been hit... I moved him out of the road. He was well fed, but had the smell of an unfixed male :(

I believe he belonged to the trailer beside where he was hit. I gently laid him on the sandy side of the road ( near the fence where his "owners" will find him) and kissed his little head with my hand.

I blew on my horn for a minute, so they would come out, and drove off.

I am so sorry little kitty that you were deprived of caring owners who wanted to keep you safe. I am sorry someone hit you, and did not move you out of the road.... I am sorry that I could not know you, or save you. I am sorry all I could do for you was make sure you were dignified in death. I am just so sorry.

RIP Sweet Tuxie boy... If your owners dont care, I hope you wait for me at the bridge, I would love to love you.... :( :(

How sad. It could be he was accidentally let out by a child, but at least his owners will see him and not have to forever wonder what happened. Hopefully they will be smarter next time.

How sad. At least he didn't go unnoticed, not by you and not by Spirit. RIP, sweet boy. You're home now.

I did not want to post this and make things any sadder, but I am, in hopes SOMEONE that just lurks here (maybe just passing by) reads it and changes their minds about letting their kitties outdoors....

On my way home last night, I had to pass back by Tuxie boy, and I saw the saddest thing. There was a kitty, almost identical to the hit boy, sitting next to his body, like he was mourning him. When my car slowed down, he looked up and then ran up to the house in front of the "accident" site. I will NEVER forget that look in his face.....

Yes, this is heartbreaking; one of the hazards of letting cats run. All we can do now is be thankful that the first kitty is at peace and that the second kitty is still safe.

Katie, that is so sad it breaks my heart. Those poor kitties. My heart goes out to the one left behind. Worse though, no one even took care of the little body. What is wrong with people? :(

ETA: I saw the same thing yesterday; a poor kitty lying on the side of the road. He/she was orange/white. RIP little one. :( :(
